While the Cincinnati Bengals have been going through one of their worst seasons in recent years, wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has been enjoying yet another elite campaign. Recently, he received major recognition, but the star wideout also voiced his frustration on social media over his teammate’s Pro Bowl snub.
Ja’Marr Chase Questions Pro Bowl Snub of Teammate
The rosters for the 2026 NFL Pro Bowl Games have been finalized, with selections decided through a combined vote of fans, coaches, and players. The event is scheduled for February 3 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco and will feature a skills competition, as well as a 7-on-7 flag football game.
The list of selected players was recently made public, along with the number of Pro Bowl honors each player has earned. While teams like the Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers, and Seattle Seahawks each had six players selected, only one from the Bengals made the roster this year, and that was Chase.
This marks the first time since 2020 that the Bengals have had just one Pro Bowl selection, largely due to their struggling season. With a 5–10 record, the team currently sits third in the AFC North.
Despite playing with three different quarterbacks this season, Chase continued to deliver, recording 110 catches for 1,256 yards and five touchdowns in 14 games. Thanks to his production, he currently ranks No. 7 on PFSN’s WR Impact with an 84.3 score.
While the honor was worth celebrating for Chase, he recently expressed disappointment on behalf of teammate Tee Higgins, who was not selected. Taking to X, Chase questioned Higgins’ absence from the Pro Bowl.
“Why tee ain’t first team pro bowl 🫤” Chase wrote.

Higgins signed a four-year, $115 million contract extension with the Bengals in March, and it has already proven to be a smart investment. This season, he has recorded 49 receptions for 720 yards and 10 touchdowns. Higgins also became just the third player in franchise history to post back-to-back seasons with 10 or more touchdowns, a feat even Chase has yet to accomplish.
Joe Burrow Praises Tee Higgins
Chase isn’t the only teammate to publicly acknowledge Higgins’ impact. Following the Bengals’ 45–21 win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 16, quarterback Joe Burrow praised the wide receiver for how much he has improved over the years.
“He’s big, long, strong, physical,” Burrow said. “First year he wasn’t making a ton of those plays, and then we come back in 2021 and he’s made most of them since. That’s a credit to how serious he takes it and how much he works and likes to improve.”
Despite the Bengals’ struggles this season, the praise from both Ja’Marr Chase and Joe Burrow highlights how highly Tee Higgins is valued within the locker room. While the Pro Bowl snub may sting, Higgins’ production and impact have not gone unnoticed by his teammates, and he could still earn recognition as an alternate if roster changes occur.
