The Chicago Bears and Tennessee Titans faced off for their final exhibition game in Week 3 of the preseason. Let’s dive into the final score, results, and highlights from the Bears at Titans matchup.
Bears at Titans score and results
| Q1 | Q2 | Q3 | Q4 | F | |
| Bears | 0 | 14 | 7 | 6 | 27 |
| Titans | 0 | 10 | 7 | 7 | 24 |
With Andy Dalton already being named the starter for the Chicago Bears, there was little intrigue surrounding the Bears at Titans game. Fields came in and continued to look good, finishing the night 7/10 for 54 yards and 1 TD.
Surprisingly enough, Nick Foles actually looked like the best QB on the roster throwing for 142 yards and 2 TDs. Obviously, he was playing against mostly backups, but he still showed the NFL that he might be a worthy QB2 candidate somewhere.
For Tennessee, the discussion was around Logan Woodside and Matt Barkley as they battled for the QB2 spot behind Ryan Tannehill. Woodside looked like the better player, with over 100 yards and a TD.

Bears at Titans game preview
The biggest storyline to watch in this one is how Fields will do against Tennessee’s first-team defense behind his first-team offensive line. This will likely be the last time we see him on the field until he replaces Andy Dalton either during the season or even in 2022.
Newly signed left tackle Jason Peters will play in his first preseason game, so it will be interesting to see how the 37-year-old looks. A few roster spots are still open on both teams, so expect players lower on the depth chart to give their all. NFL cuts must occur by Tuesday afternoon [August 31] to trim down to the final 53-man roster.
The Titans are dealing with a COVID-19 surge that will see nine coaches and players miss today’s game, including head coach Mike Vrabel. Matt Barkley will receive the start under center, but he and Logan Woodside will rotate every two series. Receivers A.J. Brown and Julio Jones have yet to play this preseason, and it is unknown if they will suit up against the Bears.
Fields is gunning for the starting QB job, but if this is his last chance to play for a while, expect him to sling it. If he can sling together a few scoring drives, the game will likely end in Chicago’s favor. Still, with Barkley and Woodside battling for the backup job in Tennessee, they have a chance.
