In a blockbuster trade on May 7, the Pittsburgh Steelers sent former second-round pick George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys — and the always-polarizing Antonio Brown has chimed in with his reaction.
Was it a negative reaction or a positive one? Well, it’s always a roller-coaster ride when Brown is sharing his controversial opinions. As always, the Steelers legend had fans glued to every word in his social media post.

Antonio Brown Wowed by George Pickens Trade
Brown’s reaction, a simple “WOW” followed by a mind-blown emoji, seems to sum up the sentiment of the entire league and every avid NFL fan.
On X, Brown shared his one-word message in a quote retweet of the official NFL account, which had announced: “BREAKING: Steelers to trade WR George Pickens to the Cowboys.”
That breaking news report, of course, came via NFL insiders Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) and Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero).

According to reports, the Cowboys are sending a third-round pick to the Steelers, along with a swap of Day 3 picks, in exchange for the star receiver. It’s a move that makes sense for both teams.
Pickens has yet to develop consistency with a single quarterback in Pittsburgh, while the Cowboys chose not to draft a wide receiver in the 2025 NFL Draft. This trade gives Pickens a franchise quarterback, and it provides CeeDee Lamb with a true running mate.
What Does Pickens Bring to the Cowboys?
Pickens hauled in 59 passes for 900 yards and three touchdowns across 14 games last season. He also caught 12 passes of 30+ air yards — the second-most in a season since the NFL began tracking the stat in 2006.
While he hasn’t yet made a Pro Bowl in his first three seasons, the 24-year-old boasts an exceptionally high ceiling. Pickens departs Pittsburgh trailing only Mike Wallace and JuJu Smith-Schuster in receiving yards through a player’s first three seasons with the franchise, finishing with 2,841 yards.
Standing at 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds, Pickens is a legitimate deep threat who should be a major asset for quarterback Dak Prescott, particularly along the perimeter. He’s also expected to open up the field for Lamb — and vice versa. On paper, this duo instantly becomes one of the most dangerous wide receiver tandems in the NFL.
Per source on the need for a possible contract extension following the trade, new Cowboys WR George Pickens isn’t “looking to do one. Wants to show he’s a top guy this year.”

However, there are concerns. Pickens has struggled to keep his emotions in check, resulting in costly penalties. He also has one year left on his rookie deal, meaning the Cowboys could end up losing him to free agency in 2025 if the fit isn’t right.
Still, it’s a calculated gamble — and one that could pay off in a big way. Pickens has the talent to help the Cowboys get back to the promised land. And honestly, this is exactly the kind of bold move that not only Antonio Brown can appreciate, but one that a restless Cowboys fanbase has been waiting for.
