Antoine Green, WR, North Carolina | NFL Draft Scouting Report

Pass catchers have become ever more important as the style of play in the NFL continues to evolve. The league is passing more than ever before, and having reliable receivers who can operate in space or make contested catches cannot only help you win games but aid in the development of your quarterback.

Antoine Green is a wide receiver prospect out of North Carolina hoping to get drafted during the 2023 NFL Draft. Green will face an uphill battle to hear his name called on draft night. Here is everything you need to know about Green in his scouting report.

Tony Pauline’s Scouting Report for Antoine Green

Strengths: Dependable possession receiver with reliable hands. Displays good route discipline, tracks the pass in the air, and competes to come away with the difficult grab. Knows where he is on the field, effectively uses the sidelines, and plays with outstanding body control.

Sells routes, uses his hands to separate from defenders, and lays out or extends for the difficult catch. Quickly releases off the line of scrimmage, immediately gets to top speed, and plays faster than his 40 time. Extends and snatches the ball out of the air.

Weaknesses: Tends to gather himself into routes and slows getting into breaks. Loses out in battles. Struggles downfield and isn’t a vertical threat.

Overall: Green is a solid pass catcher with athletic limitations as well as small hands. He has enough ability to make a roster that keeps six receivers.

North Carolina WR Antoine Green Current Draft Projection

According to Tony Pauline’s Big Board, Green is unlikely to be drafted during the seven rounds of the 2023 NFL Draft, as he is graded as an undrafted free agent.

Green checks in as Pauline’s 398th-ranked prospect and his 62nd-ranked wide receiver. A Lot of wide receivers get drafted every year, but this may be too big a hole to climb out of.

For Green, his Relative Athletic Score of 8.68 may give teams a reason to see if development is possible as a free agent signing. His 10-yard split of the 40-yard dash is considered elite and could be an indicator of a good burst off of the line of scrimmage. Unfortunately, he couldn’t further help his case with average agility and explosion scores. His vertical jump stood out for being rated as “poor.”

It is doubtful Green gets drafted in 2023. Several teams have wide receiver needs and could look to fill out their training camp rosters with skill players with certain traits for development. Also helping Green in this regard is his experience playing special teams in college. Contributing on Special teams is the fastest way to making an NFL roster without having draft pedigree.
