Andy Dalton Dynasty Profile: Fantasy Outlook, Value, Projections, and Rankings

As we inch toward the new season, the ever-changing NFL landscape has player fantasy values constantly on the move. Whether you’re used to the dynasty platform or are still learning the dynasty rules, let’s dive into the latest dynasty value of Andy Dalton.

Andy Dalton’s Dynasty Outlook and Value

Since leaving Cincinnati, Dalton has played on a different team each season. Such is life for a quarterback who largely epitomized mediocrity.

Outside of a couple of anomalous years in 2013 and 2015 — which, I need not remind you, was a very, very long time ago — Dalton has not mattered in fantasy outside of Superflex leagues.

Dalton’s best fantasy finish since 2015 was as the overall QB18 at 16.8 fantasy points per game in 2016. The three worst years of his career have been the three most recent in his post-Bengals life.

Andy Dalton’s Fantasy Ranking

At 35 years old, Dalton is no longer an NFL-caliber starting quarterback. His ability to keep the Saints’ starting job over Jameis Winston says more about Winston than it does about Dalton.

Dalton’s role in the NFL is as the quality veteran backup. That is the position he will occupy behind whichever rookie the Panthers draft.

Outside of Superflex leagues, where every starting quarterback has value, Dalton does not need to be on fantasy managers’ minds.

We have Dalton at QB42 (No. 388 overall) in our dynasty Superflex rankings. He’s only worth selecting in deep leagues on the chance the Panthers’ rookie QB gets hurt and Dalton is forced to make starts. In single-quarterback leagues, you can ignore Dalton in dynasty startup drafts.
