Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown is facing a short return window as he tries to recover from the ankle sprain he suffered on Thanksgiving. Despite missing every practice this week, he has not been ruled out for Thursday night’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Meanwhile, as questions surround his availability, his girlfriend, Brooklyn, added a personal touch to the week by sharing a set of nostalgic throwback photos of the receiver.
Amon-Ra St. Brown’s Girlfriend Shares His Pictures From Eight Years Ago
Sharing a couple of pictures on Instagram on Thursday, Brooklyn wrote, “You guys look at the cutest throwback I’m about to post. 8 years ago today.”
The pictures show St. Brown wearing No. 8, a number that defined his high school and college years. The uniform was from Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California, where he starred as one of the country’s top prep receivers. In 2017, his senior season, he surpassed 1,300 receiving yards and became a nationally recognized prospect.

The same number carried into the next phase of his career. When he enrolled at USC in 2018, St. Brown continued to wear No. 8 throughout his time with the Trojans, playing there until 2020 before joining the league. He changed to No. 14 when he joined the Detroit Lions, a number inspired by the amount of receivers drafted before him in 2021. Although the correct total was 16, Brooklyn mistakenly counted 14, but St. Brown kept it, as was revealed during the Netflix series “Quarterback.”
The throwback post also shows the longevity of St. Brown and Brooklyn’s relationship. The two first met in 2015 during their sophomore year, when they were paired for a project in their English class at Servite High School in Anaheim, California. Their friendship developed into dating by the end of that school year, and they stayed together through long-distance.
St. Brown played in Los Angeles at USC, while Brooklyn pursued a nursing degree in Orange County. Their long-distance relationship lasted till August 2024, until Brooklyn completed nursing school. After her graduation, they moved in together in Michigan.
As for Thursday’s game, the Lions are waiting until the last moment for clarity. St. Brown is officially listed as questionable, and this might come down to a genuine game-time decision. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, while a return next week is considered the more “realistic expectation,” Schefter also noted that the Lions know St. Brown to be among the toughest players in the league, and if anyone could come back earlier than predicted, it would be him.
When a fan directly asked Schefter whether St. Brown was in or out, he responded, “team doesn’t know yet.”
