The Aaron Rodgers and Allen Lazard love story has been one to behold. Wherever Rodgers finds himself in the NFL, the veteran wide receiver inexplicably ends up in the same spot as him. After stints with the Green Bay Packers and the New York Jets, the next potential reunion for the two might be happening with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
With rumors of Rodgers landing in the Steelers making the rounds for the majority of the offseason, there is a viable chance that his wide receiver counterpart comes along with him, especially after they traded away George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys. As speculation began to heat up, Lazard had to chime in as well.
Allen Lazard Drops Hint Amidst Pittsburgh Steelers Rumors
Over his seven-year career, Lazard has always been a solid, if unspectacular, wide receiver. However, the one commonality to his tenure in the league has been the marriage to Rodgers. Throughout his career, he’s always been on the same team as him.
When the four-time MVP went to the Jets, adding Lazard to the team was reportedly a requirement for the ordeal to come through. Over his two seasons in New York, Lazard totaled 841 yards over 26 games.
Now, after an ugly divorce from the team, Rodgers remains a potential candidate to join head coach Mike Tomlin in Pittsburgh. There has been no official announcement, but the rumors have been circulating since the 2024 season came to an end.
However, a trade between Dallas and the Steelers to send George Pickens to Texas has opened the door for a new wide receiver to take the mantle behind offseason addition DK Metcalf, and the rumors suggest Lazar might be the prime candidate.
With the connection between the wide receiver and the quarterback, and between the former Super Bowl Champion and Pittsburgh, it feels like a case of deja vu for a third-party observer. The 29-year-old, however, wasn’t on board with the idea.
Taking to his X account, he posted a simple gif of Leonardo DiCaprio from the movie, “The Wolf of Wall Street,” where he proudly shouts, “I’m not leaving, I’m not f***ing leaving.”

It seems like Lazard is content to stay in New York with new head coach Aaron Glenn and Justin Fields as the new starting quarterback. While his numbers with the Jets weren’t extraordinary, he might be a solid piece to round out the depth around their new quarterback.
