Wide receiver Isaiah Bond faced an emotional rollercoaster during the 2025 NFL Draft process. Bond, who transferred from Alabama to Texas, entered the draft with high hopes, but ultimately went undrafted due to concerns about his on-field performance and off-field issues.
Alabama Fan Prank Called WR Isaiah Bond Pretending To Be Falcons
Bond’s difficult draft experience was overshadowed by a cruel prank phone call from an Alabama fan, who convinced the wide receiver he had been drafted by the Atlanta Falcons.
Awful: An Alabama fan called Texas WR Isaiah Bond during the draft, pretending to be the Falcons and claimed they were drafting him.
These aren't ‘pranks’; they are cruel.

The call began with the prankster greeting Bond:
“Isaiah!”
“Yes, sir,” Bond replied.
“What’s going on?” asked the prankster.
“It’s going good, sir. How about yourself?” said Bond.
“Pretty good, pretty good. It’s Terry from the Atlanta Falcons,” the prankster lied.
“Yes, sir. Nice to meet you,” Bond responded enthusiastically.
The prankster continued, “Nice to meet you too, Isaiah. I’m going to give the phone to Arthur Blank right now, but we’re going to put the pick in.”
Bond, believing his dream was about to come true, said, “Yes, sir. That’s good, that’s good, that’s good news. That’s good news. You’re going to ball it, there’s no doubt. I’m coming to work.”
The prankster cruelly ended the call by shouting, “Roll tide, Isaiah, roll tide,” to which Bond replied, “Yes, sir, roll tide.”
This incident highlighted the insensitive treatment athletes sometimes endure during vulnerable moments like the draft.
Reasons Behind Isaiah Bond Going Undrafted
Bond entered the pre-draft process with high expectations, aiming to break the ͏40-yard dash record ͏at the ͏NFL Scouting Combine and solidify himself as a first-round pick. However͏, his fortunes ͏drastically͏ changed.
A significant factor contributing to Bond’s slide was an off-field legal issue. On April 10, 2025, Bond turned himself in to the Frisco (TX)͏ Police Department due to͏ an outstanding warrant͏ for sexual ͏assault. He͏ later posted bond and was released. Afterward, Bond publicly addressed the situation, stating:
“Regarding the accusation made against ͏me, I would appreciate the time and opportunity to defend myself͏ and prove the claims ͏made, patently false. I am in full cooperation with the authorities and ͏will remain a willing and active participant in the investigation.
Unfortunately, claims like these prove to be harmful to all involved, absent full review. I kindly request that all reserve judgment until the authorities provide a complete report based on truth and evidence.”
Bond’s on-field performance also raised concerns. Despite͏ boasting elite speed, he clocked a 4.39 40-yard ͏dash at the Combine, ͏falling short of expectations. He concluded his ͏college career ͏with under 100 receptions, fewer than 1,500 yards, and only 10 touchdowns.͏
Scouting reports ͏acknowledged his ͏agility and dynamic movement but͏ pointed out his lack of production,͏ smaller size, and limited play strength. Ultimately, the combination of legal issues͏ and performance doubts led teams to pass on Bond, ͏leaving him to͏ prove himself as ͏an undrafted free agent.
