The Maxx Crosby news ruffled plenty of feathers in the NFL world. Crosby is heading back to the Raiders for now while everyone awaits what happens next. But ESPN’s Adam Schefter revealed the next steps for the star edge rusher and whether he’ll play for Las Vegas.
Adam Schefter Provides New Update on Maxx Crosby’s Future
The deal was struck down by the Ravens, but other teams are circling. Schefter reported that the Raiders are receiving calls from multiple teams about acquiring Crosby. 4
But in a shocking turn, the Raiders might be planning to have Crosby rushing the passer for them in 2026.
Schefter wrote on X: “Raiders already have received calls from “several” teams inquiring about the availability of Maxx Crosby in a trade, per source. For now, the Raiders are prepared to get Crosby healthy and have him play for Las Vegas. But they are listening to other teams.”

Although they are exploring the idea of having him play for the Raiders, offers are still being entertained. If they get a strong enough offer, they could be saying goodbye for the second time.
But Crosby remaining in Las Vegas could be huge for the Raiders because of the skills that Crosby can offer in rushing the passer. Crosby is the 2nd-ranked edge rusher in PFSN’s EDGE Impact score.
The Raiders are making moves and will almost assuredly have Fernando Mendoza running the show on offense. The additions they have lined up on defense with Kwity Paye, Quay Walker, Nakobe Dean, Eric Stokes, and bringing back Malcolm Koonce should instill plenty of confidence in Raiders fans. If Crosby ends up returning to the Raiders, the Las Vegas defense could be a force to be reckoned with.
The Ravens are searching for answers themselves after backing out of the Crosby deal. Edge rusher remains a key priority for them and will be a story to watch, yet all eyes will be on Crosby’s next destination.
NFL executives will keep a watchful eye on the entire situation. If the NFL world expects anything, it should be that this saga is far from over and a crazy turn is within the cards for another team to pull off the blockbuster.
Las Vegas is entering a new era with head coach Klint Kubiak, a new QB, and a long list of offseason additions. Whether Crosby is a part of the new era in Las Vegas remains to be seen, but as of now, the plan remains to have him rushing the passer in Allegiant Stadium.
