Rob Gronkowski had one of the best careers at the tight end position in NFL history. He recorded 9,286 receiving yards and 92 touchdowns on 621 receptions, while winning four Super Bowl titles – three with the New England Patriots and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers – in 11 seasons.
The 42nd overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft was named a first-team All-Pro four times and a Pro Bowler five times. During his nine-year stretch with New England, the franchise was in a long-standing rivalry with the Indianapolis Colts. Gronkowski was in Indianapolis for the Indy 500, where he used the appearance to remind fans of his success against their local team.
Rob Gronkowski Takes A Shot At Colts Fans During Indy 500
Gronkowski was a part of Fox Sports’ media team coverage for the Indy 500 this weekend. The former Patriots star took the opportunity to take a shot at the Colts while in the Indy 500 Snake Pit, stating:
“My favorite part about being here at the Indy 500 is that I feel like I’m at home because I absolutely owned the Colts – the Indianapolis Colts – for eight years straight while I was on the Patriots. I never lost to them. I owned them on the field, in the blocking game, in the passing game, so I feel like I’m at home. And also, the Knicks beat my Boston Celtics last week, so now I’m a Pacers fan, so it evens out. But hey, we’re on the little stage here. It’s time to head to big stage and get this party started.”

Gronkowski played against the Colts seven times during the regular season. He never lost a game against Indianapolis while recording 33 receptions for 545 yards and seven touchdowns. He also had his only career carry against them, resulting in a two-yard rushing touchdown.
While he was injured for the Patriots’ 43-22 victory over the Colts in the 2013 postseason, he was healthy for their AFC Championship matchup the following year. In a game that is best remembered for the Deflategate controversy, New England routed their opponents, winning 45-7. Gronkowski recorded three receptions for 28 yards and one touchdown.
The Patriots would go on to win Super Bowl XLIX, marking the first of four titles in the tight end’s career. Gronkowski played a big role in the championship run as well, as he recorded 16 receptions for 204 yards and three touchdowns, finding the end zone in all three of New England’s postseason games that season.
