Following his win over Müller in the first round of the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, Djokovic is set to face British wild card Dan Evans in the second round of the Grand Slam event.
In the lead-up to the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, Evans participated in the 2025 Eastbourne Open, where he received a wild card entry into the main draw. He defeated Miomir Kecmanović with a scoreline of 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, followed it up by securing a win against second seed Tommy Paul, finishing 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 in the first and second rounds, respectively. His run ended in the quarterfinals, where he faced lucky loser Jenson Brooksby and lost 2-6, 3-6.
At Wimbledon, Evans kicked off his campaign with a straight-sets victory over fellow Brit Jay Clarke, winning 6-1, 7-5, 6-2. This win propelled him into the second round, where he will take on the 24-time Grand Slam champion.
Djokovic and Evans have met only once on the ATP Tour, in the third round of the 2021 Monte-Carlo Masters, where Evans emerged victorious with a score of 6-4, 7-5. Following that match, he made a run to the semifinals before being defeated by the eventual champion, Stefanos Tsitsipas.
The winner of the second-round match between Djokovic and Evans will advance to face either Miomir Kecmanović or Jesper de Jong in the third round of the 2025 Wimbledon Championships.
