Amanda Anisimova vs Yulia Putintseva Preview
Anisimova began her grass-court swing after a subpar run on clay. However, the American quickly found her rhythm, underscored by her run at the 2025 Queen’s Club Championships. She defeated home favorites Jodie Burrage and Sonay Kartal in the first two rounds, then eliminated third seed and fellow American Emma Navarro in the quarterfinals.

Anisimova then edged past China’s Zheng Qinwen in the semifinals before falling to German veteran Tatjana Maria in the final. She didn’t appear to be out of form later at the Berlin Tennis Open, where she defeated former US Open champion Bianca Andreescu and Poland’s Magdalena Fręch to reach the quarterfinals. However, Anisimova had a disappointing showing against Liudmila Samsonova, losing in straight sets and exiting the tournament.
Putintseva, meanwhile, began her grass-court swing at the Queen’s Club Championships, where she suffered a disappointing first-round loss to home favorite Heather Watson. She showed slight improvement at the Nottingham Open, reaching the second round before falling to Rebecca Šramková.
However, she faced another first-round exit, losing to Maria Sakkari at the Birmingham Classic. All in all, the 30-year-old will be hoping to turn things around at Wimbledon after a disappointing lead-up.
Amanda Anisimova vs Yulia Putintseva Head-to-Head
Anisimova holds a convincing 3-1 head-to-head advantage over Putintseva. The American won their previous encounter 6-4, 6-4 at the Charleston Open in March.
Amanda Anisimova vs Yulia Putintseva Prediction
Anisimova’s head-to-head advantage and her strong grass-court form gives her an advantage over the Kazakh on Monday. However, the American failed to qualify for the main draw last year, while the Kazakh impressed by defeating former World No. 1 Iga Swiatek to reach the fourth round.
However, this year, things appear to be different for both players. Anisimova enters the All England Club with an impressive 25–12 win-loss record, while Putintseva arrives with a 15–16 record, having lost more matches than she has won. Moreover, the World No. 12 boasts a grass-court win percentage of 63.64%, compared to Putintseva’s 50%.
Thus, considering their overall records and Anisimova’s recent grass-court form, she appears to have the edge in their upcoming first-round encounter.
Pick: Anisimova to win in straight sets.
