After missing the playoffs last season, change was a necessity, and the Miami Dolphins have made quite a few. The biggest improvement they made was to the defensive unit, adding proven difference makers like Ifeatu Melifonwu and Ashtyn Davis in the secondary.
While some attention has centered on the potential trade for Jalen Ramsey, a move that still feels inevitable, the situation remains unresolved for one of the league’s most productive defenders. His teammate, wide receiver Tyreek Hill, has a clear idea for how the Ramsey saga should unfold.
Tyreek Hill Campaigns to Keep Jalen Ramsey with Miami Dolphins
Ramsey joined the Dolphins after an excellent stint with the Los Angeles Rams, helping them in their run to winning Super Bowl 56 in 2022. A seven-time Pro Bowl selection, he was an excellent addition to a Dolphins team that made the playoffs in 2023.
However, an underwhelming 2024 and an enormous contract put the two sides at odds, with Miami exploring multiple trade avenues. Just recently, ESPN’s Adam Schefter confirmed that the biggest delay for a trade was the contract semantics.
With $16.7 million of Ramsey’s deal counting against the Dolphins’ cap, the franchise wanted to get rid of the entire sum entirely. As a result, there has been skepticism from other teams across the league.
Even though names like the Los Angeles Chargers and Rams are among the alleged teams trying to acquire the veteran corner, his current teammate has different plans. Speaking at the Fanatics Fest event in New York, Hill made it clear that he wants to bring Ramsey back to Miami.
“Oh, I wanna hang out with Ramsey next season, man,” Hill said. “So I’m gonna do everything. I’m gonna bring Jalen Ramsey back. He’s a dawg, he’s one of the best corners in the league, man. Great teammate too.”

Even his caption on the post on X was as straightforward as it gets: “Ima get @jalenramsey back…”
It remains to be seen if the six-time All-Pro selection can make it a reality. When the 2024 season concluded and through the early parts of free agency, Hill himself was seen as a potential trade candidate.
Ultimately, no deal has yet to pass, and it looks likely that the superstar wide receiver is returning to the Dolphins. But, Ramsey might be a different question, even though Miami continues to need help on the defensive side of the ball.
