Jack Draper recently booked his place in the semifinals of the Queen’s Club Championships after a hard-fought 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 win over Brandon Nakashima. This means that the Brit, who is currently sixth in the ATP rankings, will move up to fourth, meaning that he will be among the top four seeds at Wimbledon.
Jack Draper on Being Among Top Four Seeds at Wimbledon
In his post-match press conference, Draper reflected on being one of the top four seeds at Wimbledon, stating that it was a huge step for him after being seeded much lower in 2024.
“Like, I think it’s a definite huge step for me. I remember last year going in ranked around 30 or 40. To be inside the top 4 come Wimbledon one year around, that’s massive progress, a testament, I think I said on court, to my team, the dedication I have had for tennis, the work I have put in on a daily basis,” the Brit said.
The Englishman added, “You know, I live and breathe the sport, and I’m obsessed with progressing and obsessed with becoming the player that I want to become all the time and achieve the things I want to.”

Being among the top four seeds at Wimbledon means that Draper will not have to face the likes of Carlos Alcaraz or Jannik Sinner until the semifinals. The Brit also said that the top 16 seeds at the grass-court Major get better changing rooms.
“I think the top 16 seeds get a better changing room. There’s some tournaments where it’s top eight seeds, in the Masters 1000s I have had this year. But is different apart from just the fact that of, you know, maybe potentially not seeing Alcaraz or Sinner in the quarters, if I make it there. I think in terms of dressing room, it’s top 16 seeds. Yeah, well inside of that now,” he stated.
The Englishman is now just two wins away from becoming only the second British player to win the Queen’s Club Championships in the Open Era. Andy Murray is the only Brit to have attained this feat, having won the tournament four times.
Draper has had an impressive 2025 season so far, winning 28 out of 35 matches. He won his maiden Masters 1000 title in Indian Wells and also made it to the final of the Madrid Open. If the 23-year-old beats Jiří Lehečka, he will face either Carlos Alcaraz or Roberto Bautista Agut in the final of the Queen’s Club Championships.
