Myles Garrett Shares His Opinion Of Cleveland Browns Teammate Shedeur Sanders

Garrett has been a teammate of Sanders since the rookie’s infamous slide to the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay, Wis. Having spent some time with Sanders on the practice field, the fear-inducing defensive end spoke highly of the quarterback’s mentality and approach to the game.

“I think everyone was surprised to see him go to the fifth round, but he’s come to camp and OTAs with a great attitude. He’s a hard-working guy; he has a great head on his shoulders. And, you know, he’s always positive, always optimistic, always keeps a smile on his face, and you like going to work with people who have that kind of attitude.”

After a humiliating draft weekend, Sanders is in the process of proving himself, both on and off the field. Having the support of the team’s biggest star will undoubtedly be a huge boost to Sanders’ confidence, which was likely dented in late April.

Garrett Throws Out First Pitch To His Dad At Texas Rangers Game on Father’s Day

Garrett’s evaluation of Sanders came at the Texas Rangers’ 2-1 victory over the Chicago White Sox at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. A lifelong Rangers fan, the moment was made even more special for Garrett by the fact that he was throwing the pitch to his father, in celebration of Father’s Day.

“We’ve been Rangers fans since I can remember,” said Garrett. “And he’s (Garrett’s father) lived here most of his life, so it’s special to be able to come here and share a special moment with him.”

In a humorous twist, Garrett’s father dropped the opening pitch, with was brought a laugh from the NFL star.

“We did a little throwing here in the hallway; I guess the nerves got to him when he got out to the home plate.”

Garrett was born in Arlington and claimed to still follow the Rangers as often as he could. Having signed a massive new contract to stay in Cleveland this offseason, Garrett will have no such time for sentiment come September.
