Patriots Star Stefon Diggs Bluntly Asked About the Pink Substance Spotted in Viral Boat Video

Patriots WR Stefon Diggs addressed the viral boat video and mysterious pink substance while emphasizing privacy at their minicamp press conference.

New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs has found himself in the headlines this week, but not for his on-field performance or offseason workouts. Instead, Diggs became the talk of social media after a viral video surfaced showing him on a boat partying and offering people an unidentified pink substance, prompting plenty of speculation and questions.

As the Patriots gathered for minicamp, reporters didn’t hesitate to press Diggs for details. But the superstar receiver kept his answers brief and direct, clearly indicating he preferred to maintain his privacy.

Diggs Responds to Viral Controversy at Patriots Minicamp

Diggs, known for his candid personality as much as his talent, faced reporters during Tuesday’s media session at Patriots minicamp. Asked directly about the mysterious pink substance, Diggs didn’t mince words.

“Obviously, I want to get as candid with you guys as possible,” the 31-year-old told reporters on the second day of the Patriots’ mandatory minicamp. “I kind of, like, have a thing where [I don’t] talk about my personal life with people I don’t know personally.”

He explains that the decision wasn’t a remark on the people present at the venue, but a personal choice. Despite that, Diggs did share a diplomatic answer to the contentious question.

“I had a conversation with Vrabel, obviously. I’m gonna echo everything that he said. He told me he’s hoping everybody’s making good decisions. I had a conversation with people in the building, as well, so … Everything else is everything else. The particulars is all internal”, said Diggs, ambiguously.

His response quickly circulated on social media, dividing fans between those supporting Diggs’ privacy and others speculating further about the video’s contents. The receiver appeared unbothered by the chatter, emphasizing that his main concern remains his commitment to football and the upcoming season.

Patriots Head Coach Mike Vrabel has so far been impressed with the wide receiver’s on-field performance. During a press conference at the Gillette Stadium on Monday, June 9, Vrabel spoke about Diggs.

“He’s trying to figure out where everything is, and what his role is, and making sure that as we add those situations — the third down, the no-huddle and red zone — that he’s staying up on it, working hard in his rehab,” said Vrabel. “Certain drills he can be out there, and there’s certain drills that he won’t be, but I think he’s engaged and I like his energy.”

Vrabel’s support aligns with the Patriots’ typical approach to player controversies, consistently emphasizing team unity over individual distractions. The Patriots signed Diggs, banking on his veteran leadership and playmaking abilities, and despite the off-field distraction, Diggs’ teammates haven’t shown any public concern.

Diggs is expected to play a significant role in shaping the team’s offensive identity as the Patriots move deeper into their offseason preparations. His presence in training camp, upcoming preseason games, and ultimately during the regular season will be crucial for New England’s playoff aspirations.

Whether the viral video continues to generate attention or fades into the offseason noise, Diggs appears determined to keep his attention firmly on football, with the Patriots clearly behind him all the way.
