Shortly after, Rodgers followed up his response by focusing only on the positives that led him to sign with the Steelers. He did this without disparaging his time with the Jets or taking shots at anyone involved with the franchise. Instead of stirring up unnecessary drama, the quarterback chose to move forward with his new team.
Now in Pittsburgh, Rodgers has the opportunity to write a final, meaningful chapter in his career and add to his legacy. Dwelling on the past won’t help; there’s a new system to learn, chemistry to build with teammates, and a clear mission ahead.
Pittsburgh hasn’t won a playoff game since 2016 and was unable to be seriously threatening in any of their last four postseason appearances. Head coach Mike Tomlin has faced growing criticism for not making bold enough moves, risking his streak of non-losing seasons without producing real playoff success.
In the end, Rodgers will have the chance to answer any lingering questions about his time with the Jets on the field.
