WATCH: Aaron Rodgers Drops Major Hint on His Next NFL Destination Amid Links With Steelers

Legendary quarterback Aaron Rodgers dropped a cryptic hint about his 2025 NFL plans, leaving fans speculating on his next landing spot.

Aaron Rodgers has been one of the biggest focal points of the NFL’s offseason thus far. After a “strange” meeting with the New York Jets, the team parted ways with Rodgers, leaving the former Super Bowl MVP with no place to call home.

Teams and fans alike have spent weeks now awaiting any updates from the man himself on where he may play in the 2025 season, but he has yet to sign. However, he may have just delivered the biggest hint about his future yet.

Aaron Rodgers Offers Hint About His 2025 NFL Plans

After a young fan asked if Rodgers would play for the Chicago Bears, Rodgers responded: “No, but I believe there’s a team that might play in Chicago this year on a road trip…”

Obviously, Rodgers has history with the Bears from his days with their rival Green Bay Packers, and he went on to joke about the one-sided rivalry during his exchange with the fan.

While there was never any chance that Rodgers would join the Bears, his comment did stir the pot and get people thinking.

Rodgers hinting that he may play a road game in Chicago this season is interesting. In typical Rodgers’ fashion, his answer still left us with questions. Eight teams will play a road game in Chicago this season: the Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, and Packers.

Which team is Rodgers talking about? Of those teams, three have been linked to Rodgers, so let’s break them down.

Pittsburgh Steelers (Week 12)

This is the most obvious answer, as the Steelers have been the most likely landing spot for the future Hall-of-Famer for weeks. Rodgers met with the Steelers in Pittsburgh and even had a private workout with star wide receiver DK Metcalf.

There have been reports that Rodgers is weighing the Steelers or retirement, so it seems like a safe bet that he’s referring to Pittsburgh. The Steelers certainly hope so, as they put all their eggs in the Rodgers basket. If Rodgers bails on Pittsburgh, they will be starting either Mason Rudolph or rookie Will Howard under center.

NFL insider Adam Schefter recently provided a timeline on how he believes the Rodgers-Steelers situation will unfold.

New Orleans Saints (Week 7)

Depth chart-wise, the Saints could certainly use Rodgers. After quarterback Derek Carr retired due to his neck injury, New Orleans is in the quarterback market.

However, a recent report from a Saints insider indicated that the organization isn’t considering Rodgers.

It seems the Saints are content to start the season with their young trio of QBs: Tyler Shough, Spencer Rattler, and Jake Haener.

Minnesota Vikings (Week 1)

Back in March, there were some rumblings about Rodgers and the Vikings, as the legendary quarterback expressed interest in Minnesota and is close friends with head coach Kevin O’Connell. However, the Vikings ultimately decided not to sign the four-time NFL MVP and instead threw their full support behind sophomore J.J. McCarthy.

While Vikings GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah refused to close the door when asked about Rodgers potentially signing with Minnesota, it seems unlikely to happen (barring a setback for McCarthy).

That leaves Pittsburgh as our best guess for the team Rodgers is hinting at, which isn’t a huge surprise to anyone who has followed this saga closely.
