The 2025 NFL Draft is entering its second day. And there are still a few intriguing prospects left on the board. One such prospect is Notre Dame corner Benjamin Morrison.
Morrison was not considered a first-round prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft due to injury concerns. However, Day 2 certainly feels like a good spot for him to hear his name called. The three-year starter with the Fighting Irish could certainly boost a few secondaries. With this in mind, here are three of the best landing spots for the Notre Dame star.
Best Potential Landing Spots for Benjamin Morrison
Morrison brings some intrigue as a Day 2 option in the 2025 NFL Draft. However, as previously mentioned, he did suffer some injuries, especially in 2024. And that could certainly complicate his draft projection.
“Benjamin Morrison primarily aligned outside for the Fighting Irish and was often tasked with shadowing the opposing team’s No. 1 option — a challenge he never backed down from. He broke out as a true freshman and boasted elite ball production when healthy, but an injury-riddled 2024 campaign sullied his NFL Draft stock for teams,” PFSN’s Ian Cummings wrote in a scouting report of the Notre Dame star.
“How Morrison recovers from his hip injury will be key for evaluators, as hip injuries can be tricky for redirection and coverage mobility. That said, Morrison is trending up, and when he’s fresh, he’s one of the best man coverage defenders in the class.”
Still, some teams might be willing to bet on his upside. Here are three that make the most sense heading into Day 2.
New England Patriots
The New England Patriots did address their defensive backfield in NFL free agency — namely, they signed Carlton Davis III to a three-year contract. Davis figures to play a major role in New England’s secondary after spending one season with the Detroit Lions.
However, the team could add a bit of depth to this group, and Morrison is worth a flyer for the Pats to take on Day 2. The talent is clear for all to see, and if he stays healthy at the NFL level, he and Christian Gonzalez could form a very formidable duo in New England.
Miami Dolphins
Miami is embroiled in Jalen Ramsey trade rumors at this time. The veteran corner is expected to be moved sooner rather than later, and as a result, the team needs to find a new starting cornerback.
Morrison brings some legitimate concerns to the table. However, he can become a starter in the NFL. He may not become a Ramsey-esque corner, but the Notre Dame star certainly fits the defensive mold for the Miami Dolphins.
Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore is another logical landing spot for Morrison on Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft. The Baltimore Ravens have just five cornerbacks on the roster, and they did not add a corner in the first round, opting to select safety Malaki Starks with the 27th pick.
The Ravens are a top-10 Cover 1 unit in the NFL. This makes Morrison an easy fit for their defense, as Notre Dame ran more Cover 1 than any other defensive unit in the nation in 2024, giving Morrison a smoother transition if he lands in Baltimore.
