Former NFL quarterback Rodney Peete made headlines when he reached out and slipped his glove under Los Angeles Dodgers star Max Muncy’s during Game 1 of the Tokyo Series in Japan.
Muncy appeared to misjudge the ball as it floated into the stands, allowing Peete to cradle it and mean-mug for the cameras. As Muncy walked away looking confused and frustrated, he flicked his glove at Peete.

First things first — the Dodgers beat the Chicago Cubs 4-1 in Game 1 of the Tokyo Series. No harm was done. The play likely didn’t affect the outcome.

MLFootball posted the same viral clip with a different caption, referencing Bartman: “Former #Eagles quarterback Rodney Peete just caught and stole the ball away from Dodgers Max Muncy in Japan … The Bartman.”
Muncy looked ready to throw a tantrum, shaking his head and muttering under his breath. His reaction fueled a debate in the comments.
Some believed Peete interfered and that Muncy had every right to be upset. Others — a larger group of fans who analyzed the sequence — concluded that Muncy had no chance of catching the ball.

Looking closely, you can see Muncy’s momentum slowed when his glove hit the foul netting. He actually whiffed on his attempt, and the ball casually dropped into Peete’s glove, which was positioned right underneath.
Conclusion: Peete didn’t technically interfere — at least not by the eye test.
