A’ja Wilson continues to make strides in the women’s basketball world as the defensive bedrock of the Las Vegas Aces is ready to set the world on fire with her new shoe.
Wilson extended her deal with Nike in late 2024, and her first shoe is set to drop this spring before the WNBA season kicks off. She has embarked on a tour to promote her A’One shoes in style.
A’ja Wilson Coming Back to South Carolina to Show Off Her Sneakers
Wilson inked a six-year extension with the shoe industry giant in what was termed by Sportico as the richest deal for a women’s basketball player. Her signature shoe line is a part of this deal as well.
To promote her A’One shoes, the two-time WNBA champion is returning to her hometown of Columbia, S.C. — her first stop to promote the shoes. After showcasing the sneakers at Foot Locker in Columbia on March 16, she will head to her proving ground in Las Vegas on March 22 and then to Tampa, Fla., on April 3.
Wilson took to her Instagram to highlight the shoe’s promotional events, which will be a once-in-a-lifetime event for her fans. “Pre-Heat, otw. Don’t say I didn’t tell you,” she captioned her post.

Wilson is a South Carolina native who pursued her college basketball career in-state, thriving with the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Wilson Encourages Women at a Leadership Event
Wilson was the keynote speaker at the South Carolina Chamber’s 4th Annual Women’s Leadership Symposium in Columbia. During her speech, she highlighted the issues that women face in leadership positions.

“I feel like as women, we wear a lot of hats because we want to be the best, and we know how hard it is to get in those rooms and sitting at those tables,” she said. “So, we feel like we have to be this person. And sometimes you lose yourself.”
The six-time WNBA All-Star also gave the audience members her mantra to deal with this issue. She stated that women need to be unapologetically themselves in these situations and must never be afraid to ask for help when needed.
