How Many Picks Do the Buccaneers Have in the 2025 NFL Draft?

Entering Day 1, the Buccaneers have six picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. They still possess the rights to all of their original picks except for their sixth-round selection, which was a part of the trade that dealt Carlton Davis to the Detroit Lions.

The Buccaneers received a 2024 third-round pick back in the Davis trade, which they used on Washington wide receiver Jalen McMillan in the 2024 NFL Draft. After an active free agency period, will we see the Buccaneers get equally aggressive during the 2025 NFL Draft, or will they be happy to see who falls into their laps?

What Are the Buccaneers’ Biggest Needs in 2025?

  • CB, S, EDGE, LB, DT

It was a very exciting season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who won their fourth straight NFC South title and had the upside to challenge anyone in the conference, as evidenced by wins over the Eagles and Lions. Their bedrock was a third-ranked offense with a third-ranked offensive line. Their defense finished the season 16th but was exposed at times against better competition.

The Buccaneers were very active retaining their own in free agency. They re-signed Chris Godwin and Ben Bredeson to go with Lavonte David’s return. They also agreed to a one-year deal with Haason Reddick in the opening minutes of the legal tampering period to add a potential difference-maker at EDGE.

The biggest draft priorities now are to add more depth in the secondary, ensure they are set long-term at EDGE, and find a long-term successor to David. Nearly all of that could be done in this year’s defense-rich class, and they can almost take the best-player-available approach throughout the seven rounds.

Offensively, they may well look to add depth along their offensive line and at tight end. However, those are more Day 3 developmental type needs, as few rookies would be positioned to heavily contribute to the Bucs’ stellar offense.
