After a 2-0 start to the season, the New Orleans Saints have lost their last two games to fall to 2-2. On Sunday, the Saints offense couldn’t get anything going, as QB Derek Carr completed 23 of 37 passes for only 127 yards. RB Alvin Kamara led the team with 13 catches for 33 yards, and it was just short passes the entire day.
Carr, who was battling some injuries, did not look like himself and couldn’t throw deep. With his health a question moving forward, should fantasy football managers hit the waiver wire and pick up QB/TE Taysom Hill?

Should Taysom Hill Be a Fantasy Waiver Wire Add in Week 5?
To say the Saints struggle on offense would be an understatement. Through four games, New Orleans has only put up 59 points. The season-high is 17, which they scored in both the previous weeks. There was hope the offense could take another step today, as they got arguably their best offensive weapon, Kamara, back.
Kamara was suspended for the first three games of the year, but he didn’t do much in his return to provide the Saints offense the burst they were looking for.

With all of the offensive struggles by the Saints, there is no real reason to add Hill to your team.
First, there really is no way to know who is going to be the quarterback of the Saints if Carr isn’t ready to go. It could absolutely be Hill, but it just as easily could be Jameis Winston. Both quarterbacks have different strengths and weaknesses, and a lot of the decisions could be dependent on what team they are playing.
Second, even if he were to be named the starter, what is he capable of to help get this offense clicking on all cylinders? The big plays haven’t been there for wide receivers, and a lot of that is on them. The receiving group hasn’t been able to create any separation to get open, so it doesn’t really matter who the quarterback is.
If there is one area that Hill does excel in, it’s getting outside the pocket and making plays. However, that goes hand-in-hand with the receivers consistently getting open. With the inability to run the ball as well, whoever the Saints quarterback is will consistently get pressured until receivers get open.
If this is the route you think you need to go to try and right your fantasy team, there has to be a different way. There are absolutely quarterbacks in your league that are better to start than Hill.
