As summer comes to a close and we transition to cooler temperatures for most of the country, the NFL heads into Week 3 with the weather on the minds of more than a few teams this Sunday. One of those games that looks to be in danger of having weather play a factor is the Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens matchup, with the Colts coming to Baltimore for this AFC clash.
Most of the East Coast is dealing with remnants of tropical storm “Ophelia,” and Baltimore is no exception, with rain and swirling winds looking to possibly have an impact on Sunday’s contest.
Weather Report for Ravens vs. Colts Kickoff
While the weather does not look to be torrential, with a possibility that it could be calm, the weather forecast does call for a moderate chance of disruption for this Week 3 matchup.
The official latest forecast calls for cloudy skies with occasional showers. The game will have a high of 69 degrees, with winds swirling ESE at 5-10 mph and a 50% chance of rain.
Ravens vs. Colts Preview
The Ravens come into this game looking to win their third straight and start the season 3-0. Meanwhile, the Colts are hoping to find a way to win their second game of the season but will have to do so without their starting quarterback under center.
Baltimore is a team that typically thrives by running the football with quarterback Lamar Jackson leading the way, so the elements suit them well. However, Indianapolis does not have star running back Jonathan Taylor or starting quarterback Anthony Richardson — who is a weapon in the running game in his own right — and will need to figure out a way to battle the Ravens and the weather if they’re going to pull off the win.

Gardner Minshew has a chance to put on a show for the rest of the league in an attempt to prove he’s more than just a backup QB. The Ravens, on the other hand, have a chance to solidify their legitimacy within the AFC juggernauts but taking care of business against an undermanned Colts team.
Weather could be a key factor in this game, and the mentally tougher team with the correct game plan may come out victorious on Sunday afternoon.
