Will Aaron Rodgers Play in the Preseason Finale?

If you were able to catch this week’s episode of Hard Knocks, you were able to get a sneak peek into this answer. Jets head coach Robert Saleh was on the sideline of their Week 2 matchup telling players that everybody, including “the big man,” was suiting up and playing.

The big man he was alluding to was Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers is expected to see preseason action for the first time since the 2018 preseason with the Green Bay Packers as he gets acclimated to game action with his new teammates.

Who Will Play With Rodgers?

The Jets seem set in their quarterback room heading into the season. They currently have three QBs on their roster, each with a defined role behind Rodgers for 2023. While we have become accustomed to poor quarterback play for the franchise, 2023 looks like that is set to change for the Jets.

As we turn the page to the final preseason game and beyond, the QB2 for the season is set to be Zach Wilson. Despite people thinking otherwise going into it, Wilson has taken the Rodgers signing in stride, and as we have been able to see throughout the Hard Knock series, the two QBs have struck up quite the friendship/mentorship.

We don’t know what the future holds for the once promising young QB, but for 2023, he is settling in nicely to his backup role to Rodgers.

The third quarterback on the roster for the Jets is NFL veteran Tim Boyle. Boyle is in his fifth season in the league, and it would be in Boyle’s best interest to come out Saturday night and play well to prove that the team would be wise to hold three QBs on the depth chart.
