Get ready for a new era of style on the field! Discover the latest NFL uniform changes coming in 2024 and what they mean for your favorite teams.

Some NFL teams will look different in the 2024 season with an update to their uniforms.

A new rule change now allows NFL teams to use three different helmets, an increase from the two that were permitted in 2023. The league previously only allowed one helmet design due to safety concerns, but with the rule change, teams are now taking advantage by introducing new uniforms and bringing back throwbacks.

Which Teams Will Make Changes to Their NFL Uniforms and Helmets in 2024?

New York Jets | New Uniforms

The Jets revealed their brand-new uniforms in April. They are a fresh look with an ode to the past, as they look to ring in a new legacy in New York.

The new look is simple, and the uniforms offer a clean, more modern take on the team’s jerseys. Green home jerseys, white away jerseys, and a black alternate uniform were announced, along with subtle changes to the helmet design that has the familiar old-school script Jets fans have loved for years.

The uniforms also include some interesting details as they removed the ‘NEW YORK’ script off the chest, the stripes on the shoulders, and the football design from their helmet. A more minimalistic approach that provides a fresh new look.

    Detroit Lions | New Uniforms

After much anticipation, the Detroit Lions unveiled a new look for the 2024 season.

Lions President Rod Wood teased the release by saying the new look will be “one of the great uniforms” in the NFL. This high praise raised eyebrows among the fan base as they waited in anticipation for the release, and it seemingly delivered, as the jerseys have been well received.

The Lions are now dawning a fresh new look with hints and reminders of the past. With one of the best color schemes in the NFL, Detroit made some changes to its home and away jerseys while doing a truly innovative all-black alternative look.

    Denver Broncos | New Uniforms

Like many teams in the NFL this season, the Denver Broncos have undergone a jersey overhaul for the first time since the 1997 season.

Heading into this season, Denver announced the creation of the “Mile High Collection” uniforms, which includes nine primary uniform combinations with specific features of the Rocky Mountain region and the Broncos’ existing logo and colors.

“This has been a thoughtful, collaborative journey that’s involved us listening to voices throughout all of Broncos Country to design the Mile High Collection, our modern and inspirational new uniforms for the Denver Broncos,” President Damani Leech said in a statement. “We’re grateful for the engagement and creativity of ownership, the players, our business and football leadership, Nike, and especially the best fans in the NFL during this process.

The Broncos have not made the playoffs since they won Super Bowl L in Peyton Manning’s final football game. Denver, in the second year with head coach Sean Payton at the helm of the franchise, is looking to move past their recent struggles with an entire change to their uniform brand.

    Houston Texans | New Uniforms

The Houston Texans have officially released their new uniforms and have done so to quite the reception from the NFL world.

The official rollout follows the leak of the new-look uniforms. At that time, Texans owner Cal McNair shared photos of their redesigned jerseys, stating, “Leaked pic? How about a real photo of Nico [Collins] and Tank [Dell]!? Way more to come in April!”

Since then, the Texans have officially kept their traditional logo for their navy home jerseys and their white away jerseys. However, they have added two new interesting-styled helmets for two additional combinations.

One has an all-red look with a horn on both sides, representing a bull-styled look. The navy uniform features a Houston-esque ‘H’ with a star accent and baby blue writing, tied together with a sparkled midnight navy helmet that matches the jersey.

Each look is unique but stays true to the area it represents, and the NFL community has widely viewed it as a job well done.

    Cleveland Browns | Facemask Change

The Cleveland Browns have a rich history, one that they are proud of. That pride has resulted in their uniform adjustments over the years left to a minimum.

There have been stylistic changes throughout the years, but nothing too outlandish or extravagant has ever been done to Cleveland’s uniforms. Such is the case with their latest uniform tweak for the 2024 season, which has them tapping into yesteryears going forward.

The Browns unveiled white facemasks that they will begin wearing in 2024, an ode to the past and a look they once had. It’s a clean look, possibly one they should have had in place all along. Now, it becomes a staple and something that will carry with the Browns going forward.

New York Giants | Throwback Jersey

The Giants have an iconic brand and a recognizable logo now, but in the beginning, it didn’t start with the big ‘NY’ logo that we are all accustomed to seeing now. With their newest throwback jersey, they just unveiled, they are looking to give a fresh new look in 2024 while also paying respect to the past.

With the release of their new ‘Century Red’ uniforms, the Giants are sporting an entirely different look than we are used to seeing. With a winged helmet look, and cross-chest stripes, the Giants are taking us back to the early 1990s with these.
