Eagles +11 and Patriots -1 (-130) risk $20 to win $15.40
The Philadelphia Eagles have to be one of the most disappointing teams in the National Football League through the first three weeks of the season. They’re 1-2 straight up and 0-3 against the spread. Injuries have played a major role in the slow start, and it sounds like Philadelphia might get a few of their guys back for Thursday night in Green Bay.
I think the Eagles are due for a bounce-back against a Packers team that might be playing a bit over their heads at this point. I grabbed this teaser earlier in the week mostly to avoid the Patriots line from moving against me. I did not anticipate the Eagles line moving in my favor all the way to +5. I believe Philadelphia covers that number, so getting 11 in this scenario was too much to pass up.
Meanwhile, the Bills Mafia is sure to be rowdy on Sunday in Orchard Park, but they are taking a monstrous step up in competition. Buffalo is 3-0 straight up but their first three opponents are a putrid 1-8 overall. The Patriots are clearly the better team and they’ve won seven of the last eight meetings between these two franchises.
This year, New England boasts one of the most elite defenses in the league, and the Josh Allen-led Bills aren’t exactly an offensive juggernaut. Patriots should win this one by a touchdown at least and with the extra points, we should cruise to another teaser win (5-1 overall so far) if Philadelphia just keeps it close Thursday Night at Lambeau.
NFL Picks ATS: Cowboys -3 (+105) risk $30 to win $31.50
Three-point road favorite on Sunday Night Football. Sound familiar? Just like the Rams in Cleveland last week, the Cowboys head into New Orleans with a more talented and experienced roster in prime time. Sure, the Saints are battle-tested and coming off a big win in Seattle last weekend, but overcoming the loss of Drew Brees is destined to be more challenging this time around.
Teddy Bridgewater and Sean Payton won’t be able to catch the Cowboys off-guard this weekend. Surprisingly, New Orleans is 0-5 against the spread in their previous five home games and 1-5 ATS against teams with a winning record. The Cowboys came out flat last Sunday at home against the lowly Dolphins in an obvious trap game. That won’t happen in primetime Sunday Night. I’ll take Dallas and lay the three points on the road.
