With two very profitable weeks behind us, Pro Football Network's expert handicapper is back with some plays for a tough Week 3 slate.

With two weeks of action already behind us, Pro Football Network’s betting team is experiencing quite a bit of success. A big part of that success is the information and plays that our expert handicapper Chris Smith has brought to the table. Chris has had a good grasp on the NFL odds this season and has been able to use them to his advantage.

Tommy Teaser two-unit play of the weekend

Vikings -2 and Chiefs -1 (-120) risk $45 to win $37.50

The Minnesota Vikings are coming off a tough loss to the Green Bay Packers last Sunday, and now look to avenge their loss to the Oakland Raiders back in SuperBowl XI. After a tough start in Green Bay, the Vikings defense put the clamps on Aaron Rodgers in the second half at Lambeau Field. Now the Raiders arrive in Minnesota after being held scoreless the final three quarters by a mediocre Kansas City Chiefs defense. Oakland is 1-6 against the spread the last seven road games, and we only need the Vikings to cover two points after the tease.

The red hot Chiefs will be the second leg of our two-team teaser. Patrick Mahomes and company have picked up right where they left off last season, while Lamar Jackson is an early MVP candidate in Baltimore. We believe the Baltimore Ravens might be slightly overvalued by the NFL odds market at this point, however, based on the weakness of their opening two opponents. Baltimore covered a similar 6.5 point spread last year when these two teams met at Arrowhead, but the Chiefs went 7-1 at home last season, dropping only a last-second one-point loss to the Chargers in Week 15. Thanks to the six-point teaser, a straight-up victory for Kansas City is good enough for us.

Patty Parlay

Patriots & Cowboys first half -12.5 (+217) risk $20 to win $43

At first glance, this week’s NFL odds look an awful lot like a College Football Saturday slate. It is the first time in over 30 years that two different games feature 21+ point spreads. While I have a difficult time giving up three touchdowns in any NFL game, I was successful with the New England Patriots -11.5 first half last Sunday.

Now, the injury-depleted New York Jets arrive in Foxboro with a practice squad quarterback and a star safety who is going to lengths to show his displeasure with the organization. This week, I’ll stick with the Patriots and add the Dallas Cowboys to the mix. Dallas is home against the Miami Dolphins, who have lost by a staggering 102-10 combined score over the first two weeks. Dallas’ offense has looked great so far, and I have zero reasons to believe Miami can slow down the Dak Prescott freight train. Patty Parlay thinks it’s a no-brainer –  grab the Patriots and Cowboys at -12.5 each 1H (+217).

ATS NFL odds pick

Rams -3 (-113) risk $33 to win $29

The Los Angeles Rams are a tremendous road team, having gone 11-2 straight up in their last 13 contests away from Los Angeles. Sunday night will be the first primetime game in Cleveland since Jim Brown left and the Dawg Pound is sure to be rocking. This is nothing new to the Rams, however, who played in five primetime games last season, winning three of those.

Baker Mayfield and company pummeled an injury-depleted Jets unit on Monday night, but now the pressure will be on at home against a major step up in competition. Baker Mayfield hasn’t looked great in the first two outings and now the defending NFC champions head to Cleveland with Aaron Donald and an excellent defensive unit. I predict Mayfield continues his trend of turning the ball over, while the Cleveland Browns defense struggles to slow down the Rams offense. I’ll lay the three points on the road and take the Rams in this spot.
