Cardinals vs. Lions Prediction, Pick: Can Kyler Murray get back on track in Week 15?

Can Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals get back on track? Here's our pick and prediction for the Cardinals vs. Lions in Week 15.

The Arizona Cardinals will look to right the ship in a matchup against the Detroit Lions this weekend. Arizona is playing for the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC, recording a 10-3 record through 13 games. Detroit, meanwhile, has been the worst team in the NFL, posting a 1-11-1 record thus far. The NFL odds are listed below, along with my pick and Cardinals vs. Lions prediction for Week 15.

Arizona Cardinals vs. Detroit Lions pick, prediction | Week 15

  • Spread: Cardinals -13.5 (Odds provided by DraftKings Sportsbook)
  • Moneyline: Cardinals -800, Lions +550
  • Over/Under: 47.5

The Cardinals are arguably the best road team in the NFL this season. They’re scoring a league-high 32.9 points per game on the road. They rank second in points per play (.486) on the road as well.

Arizona also boasts one of the best defenses in the league on the road, allowing only 16.9 points per game in that situation. This ranks second behind only the New England Patriots. The Cardinals rank in the top five in points allowed per play (.278) on the road in 2021.

Overall, they’re a perfect 7-0 on the road this season. They own road wins over a healthy Tennessee Titans team, the Los Angeles Rams, and the Cleveland Browns.

Cardinals vs. Lions betting trends

The Cardinals have found plenty of success against the spread (ATS) this season. They’re covering in 69.2% of their games, which is the third-best rate in the NFL.

Arizona owns a perfect 7-0 ATS record on the road, covering the spread by an average of 16.6 points per game.

The Lions have also found some success in 2021, covering in 61.5% of their games thus far. They’re failing to cover by an average of 2.7 points per game, though, suggesting their 8-5 ATS record is due for some regression.

Arizona has leaned toward the over in their game, finding it in 53.9% of their contests. Detroit’s on the other side of the spectrum, hitting the under in 61.5% of their games this season.

Cardinals vs. Lions prediction

The Cardinals should have no issues getting back on track in this game. The question is whether they can cover the nearly 2-touchdown spread.

Detroit’s offense has stalled for the majority of the season, and it’s unlikely they’ll be able to keep up with one of the highest-powered offenses in the league. After losing an important divisional matchup on Monday Night Football, the Cardinals could be looking to make a statement against the worst team in the NFL.

Arizona should find plenty of offensive success, and I don’t expect Detroit to keep up in that style of a game.

Cardinals vs. Lions Prediction: Cardinals 31, Lions 10
