‘This Program Is Lifeless,’ ‘He Stinks’ — Jedd Fisch Hammered by CFB Fans as Washington Limps Through Sloppy Apple Cup

After Washington got off to a slow start offensively against Washington State, Huskies HC Jedd Fisch was hammered by college football fans.

The Washington Huskies entered their Sunday afternoon Apple Cup showdown against the Washington State Cougars with an intention to get off to a hot start. Washington head coach Jedd Fisch probably preached that message to his team often leading up to this matchup.

Unfortunately, the Huskies, ranked No. 17 in the Associated Press’ Preseason Top 25 Poll, came out flat. Washington only held a 10-0 lead at halftime and struggled to pull away from their bitter rivals until late in the fourth quarter.

Fans Let Washington HC Jedd Fisch Hear Their Voices

As NBC televised the game nationally, Huskies fans voiced their frustration with Washington’s performance.

A lot of their comments were focused on Fisch, who is on the hot seat this season. Fisch is calling the plays on offense for his team, so there’s even more space for him to be a target of frustration.

Another fan targeted Fisch’s coaching performance and salary while criticizing the Washington coach. “Jedd Fisch is allowed to collect a paycheck as a college coach is what’s wrong with America,” this fan wrote.

Another Washington fan was more blunt in criticizing Fisch and the Huskies’ program. The fan wrote, “That’s great, Jedd Fisch is lining up a good recruiting class in 2028. Only problem is he stinks at coaching football in the year 2026- I’m over this [Expletive].”

Noting the halftime score between the Huskies and Cougars, one fan was simply not impressed with Washington’s offensive effort. The enthusiast put this out on social media: “Offensive mastermind Jedd Fisch has a whopping 10 points against Washington State.”

Washington scored a touchdown with 2:25 left in the game, and the Huskies closed out a 24-10 victory. Still, the uneven offensive performance gave frustrated fans plenty to criticize despite the Apple Cup win.
