Caitlin Clark brought her signature long-range magic to the international stage on Friday during Team USA’s FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup opener against China.
Pulling up from near the logo in the second quarter, Clark drained a jaw-dropping three-pointer that sent basketball fans and social media into a complete frenzy.

For fans eager to watch Clark make her World Cup debut at the World Cup on Friday, the main attraction required just a little bit of patience.
Facing off against China in Berlin, a marquee rematch of the 2022 gold-medal game, Team USA head coach Kara Lawson rolled out Chelsea Gray and Jackie Young in the backcourt, flanked by Breanna Stewart, Kahleah Copper, and Napheesa Collier.
The 24-year-old Fever superstar checked in midway through the first quarter, instantly injecting her trademark pace and court vision as Team USA began building a comfortable early lead.
By the time the first quarter wrapped up, she had already earned four assists, but it was the second quarter where Clark delivered the ultimate highlight-reel moment.
Crossing half-court with complete confidence, Clark barely gave the China defense time to set up before pulling up from well behind the line, almost right near the logo.

With her signature quick release, she launched the shot and buried it cleanly. The arena crowd in Berlin erupted, and it didn’t take long for the clip to sweep across social media, with fans losing their minds over her bringing logo-range shots to the international stage.
“GOAT,” one fan claimed.

Living up to their account handle, one user pointed out that court boundaries simply don’t apply to Clark, writing, “FROM ANYWHERE.”
One fan used a bit of German geography to poke fun at the ridiculous distance of the pull-up, writing,“They’re in Berlin. THAT was from Munich!”
“Casually getting buckets,” yet another fan added.

By the time the final buzzer sounded, Team USA had wrapped up a dominant 94-61 blowout over China, and Clark’s fingerprints were all over it. She ran the entire engine.
In just 25 minutes, Clark dished out a game-high 11 assists to go along with 14 points and 3 rebounds, finishing with a team-best +30 differential. It was a total masterclass for her senior World Cup debut.
Clark wasn’t putting on a solo show, either. The four-time defending champions flexed their ridiculous depth across the board. Paige Bueckers matched Clark with 14 efficient points, Rhyne Howard lit it up from deep with 14 of her own, and Jackie Young added 12 points, while Angel Reese anchored the glass with a team-high 9 rebounds.
When this roster gets firing on all cylinders, there is practically no stopping them. Team USA now turns its attention to back-to-back group matchups against Italy on Sunday and Czechia on Monday. If this opening statement was any indication, the Americans are set to cruise through Group D without breaking a sweat.
