As the Cleveland Browns prep for the upcoming 2026 NFL season, all eyes are on Todd Monken and whether he can finally get the franchise to deliver something, anything, to make fans take notice of the product on the field.
Cleveland is not expected to compete for a postseason spot this year, especially after they traded Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams back in June.
But if the quarterback competition wasn’t enough to keep the fanbase engaged, it appears fans have also caught on to other supposed slip-ups, with assistant general manager Catherine Hickman finding herself in the heat of some controversy this week.
NFL Fans Displeased With Browns AGM Catherine Hickman’s Choice of Apparel
Hickman spoke with the media on Wednesday ahead of the team’s Week 1 opener. At first glance, this press conference was nothing out of the ordinary. However, fans were displeased with her outfit for this appearance.
Hickman wore a shirt that had the words “Los Angeles Made Me Do It” across the center. The shirt also had some holes in it across the upper torso. For a subsection of fans, this appearance was unacceptable.
“Is there some weird meaning behind a sweatshirt that says ‘Los Angeles Made Me Do It’ with knife holes in it?? What is that?!” one fan wrote on social media.
“Get your [explicit] together, it’s embarrassing,” another fan wrote.
“This is the most unserious (organization),” another chimed in.

For many fans of the Browns, this is likely a non-issue. Cleveland is in the midst of another potential rebuild following a disastrous 2025 season. The quarterback situation is messy, and Cleveland hasn’t seriously challenged for a Super Bowl in decades.
The on-field drama revolves around quarterback Deshaun Watson, who has not played since 2024. However, he will be the starting quarterback in Week 1.
Watson beat out 2025 draft pick Shedeur Sanders in the quarterback competition. Sanders had his own struggles in 2025, but was the team’s leading passer with 1,400 yards.
How the Browns perform on the field is of the utmost concern for fans of this franchise. They will get their first chance to see this team in action on September 13 when Cleveland opens the season against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
