‘Nobody Likes You Here’ — Giants Fans Slam Jalin Hyatt for Keeping Jersey #13 Away From Odell Beckham Jr.

Giants fans are upset that Odell Beckham Jr. isn't sporting the number 13 on his jersey, with those digits currently belonging to Jalin Hyatt.

The New York Giants finally went through their roster cutdown, and it had some legitimate surprises. Embracing a fresh start with head coach John Harbaugh, when all is said and done, NYG could be a potential sleeper in the NFC.

But alongside the youth, they’ve also incorporated some quality veterans on the roster. Perhaps the biggest fan favorite in that group is Odell Beckham Jr.

Now that he’s officially a part of the roster, though, fans are upset about one particular aspect of the reunion.

Giants Fans Vouching for Odell Beckham Jr. Against Jaylin Hyatt

A first-round pick for the Giants in 2014, OBJ instantly caught the imagination of fans. The former Offensive Rookie of the Year earned three Pro Bowl nods during his time with the franchise. From there, he had various pit stops in the league, including winning Super Bowl 56 with the Los Angeles Rams.

After sitting out the entire 2025 season, he made his return with a one-year deal with the Giants. Initially, there were question marks about him making the official 53-man roster. But after a solid run through training camp and preseason, he officially made the cut.

But a picture shared by Jordan Raanan of ESPN from the Giants’ practice left fans peeved. He reported, “Odell Beckham Jr. (is) still wearing No. 3. Jalin Hyatt (is) in 13.”

The choice had fans fuming after they’d seen Beckham rock the number 13 throughout his Giants tenure.

As one fan urged, “Hyatt to take that [expletive] off,” another fan took a similar tone, claiming, “What the [expletive] is he doing there?”

An aggressive fan demanded, “Take that [expletive] off his back immediately.”

However, there were a few who found humour in this situation, with one fan claiming, “This is actually hilarious lmao.” Another was left stunned by the image, exclaiming, “You gotta be kidding me.”

As one fan questioned Hyatt’s audacity, “Who does Hyatt think he is?” Another fan could only offer a one-word response to the entire situation, writing, “Disappointing.”

A spectacular collegiate player who won the Fred Biletnikoff Award, Hyatt came into the league as a third-round pick for the Giants. After a solid rookie season, his opportunities severely diminished.

This year, he was cut from the roster, but he’s still training with the team. For fans, though, there might be some good news, as Beckham mentioned the jersey number while talking to the media as well.

“I think we all know what that means to me, and there definitely will be some conversations. I’ll just say we’ll see what happens, but I have to say it would be an honor and a privilege to put that back on.”

It remains to be seen if the fans and Beckham’s wishes come true. But regardless of the number on his jersey, the excitement surrounding his return has been hard to ignore, with the fan base reaching a frenzy even during the preseason when he was on the field.

That noise and craze should only increase once the season comes around. And it could give the Giants another boost as they try to make a potential playoff push this year.
