Jaylen Brown started streaming on Twitch to control his own narrative. He’s repeatedly addressed analysts and discourse head-on, never mincing his words in the process.
Tonight’s stream was no different as he went at Colin Cowherd and the media for creating a narrative around him that paints him as a ‘know-it-all’ in locker rooms.
Jaylen Brown Goes At Colin Cowherd And More For False Narratives
The fallout from the Celtics-Brown trade brought several narratives to the forefront. One that particularly perturbed JB was when Cowherd, after Boston traded Brown, alleged,
“I had two NBA sources tonight. Two people in the league, one an executive and one a scout, say that Jaylen Brown has, it’s a disease. He suddenly thinks he’s the smartest guy in every room he’s in.”
Brown, at the time, responded to the ‘smartest guy in every room’ allegations and said, “No offense to everybody in sports, but the bar is [expletive] low.”
Fast-forward to the present day, and he broke down on stream the propagation of “false” narratives surrounding his name.
“They label me like – they said I had a disease. They called me the smartest person in the room for just trying to uplift my community and showing respect to the places I came from. What are we talking about? That’s all I’ve talked about since I was 18 years old.”
After speaking on only wanting to “positively impact” his community, he called Cowherd out directly:
“Colin Cowherd, to quote him, he said it’s a disease — or quote one of his sources. Like, these people are crazy, bro, y’all got to see it.”

“These companies be crazy, corporations be crazy, they be lying to us, they be putting propaganda out,” Brown continued. “Putting out false statements, stuff that’s not even true. That’s why I started streaming in the first place. Because these industries be so corrupt bro. You forced the hand.”
This isn’t the first time Brown has been outspoken about what he believes to be the media conjuring up discourse for the sake of entertainment and profit.
He lashed out at Stephen A. Smith and ESPN as a whole in June, saying, “The leader behind that was ESPN. ESPN is unethical, and Stephen A. Smith is the head face of that.”
This was in response to SAS and ESPN running a segment shaming Brown for claiming the 2025-26 season was his favorite. This led Smith to question the former Celtics star about why this was the case, given that they were eliminated in the first round and Jayson Tatum missed most of the season.
“The organization, the players, they were all in agreeance, they all knew what I meant by that,” continued Brown.
Unlike Smith, who responded to Brown at the time by calling him “pathetic,” Cowherd has yet to react to Brown’s ‘callout.’ Granted, JB went on stream just a couple of hours ago, so a response is likely within the next few days.
