Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill were one of the NFL’s most formidable quarterback and wide receiver duos for a good two years. In the 2022 and 2023 seasons, Tagovailoa totaled over 8,000 passing yards for the Miami Dolphins, while Hill racked up 3,509 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns over those two seasons.
While the last two years weren’t as kind to the former Miami stars, Hill still seems to have his former quarterback’s back, at least on social media.
Tyreek Hill Shows Support For Tua Tagovailoa
On Friday night, Tua returned to his former home, albeit just for a preseason clash with the Dolphins.
Quarterbacking the Atlanta Falcons, Tua’s second drive of the night was an unmitigated disaster, as he failed to corral a snap and Miami swarmed their former teammate to recover the ball. Hill, who remains unsigned while recovering from his gruesome injury, was quick to the trigger on his X account:

Hill has been active on social platforms while he continues his recovery, posting rehab videos to his TikTok. However, Friday night’s post on X was his first on the platform since March 9.
It was an intriguing post on multiple levels. While remaining unsigned but targeting a 2026 return, Hill may be hinting he’d be interested in playing alongside Tua again, this time with the Falcons.

Additionally, Kansas City Chiefs fans may notice the use of the term ‘goat’ in the tweet as a subtle dig at Hill’s original team. Hill had four 1,000-yard seasons with Kansas City, including three alongside three-time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes. Hill caught a career-high 15 touchdown passes en route to his lone Super Bowl ring.
Hill’s post did not mention the Chiefs, but referring to Tua as the ‘goat’ could either be another dig at the team that decided to trade him, an indicator that he wants to reunite with his old quarterback, or simply a show of support for a former teammate at the center of a tough moment.
Ultimately, Tagovailoa’s day was an overall success, as the former Miami signal-caller completed seven of eight passes for 95 yards and led a touchdown drive while playing the first quarter of Atlanta’s preseason finale, which the Falcons won, 17-12.
Tua is expected to be the Week 1 starter for the Falcons when they go on the road to face the Pittsburgh Steelers on September 13.
