The Houston Texans are viewed as a legitimate Super Bowl contender this season, largely due to their all-world defense. Today, they dominated the Carolina Panthers in joint practice and sacked Bryce Young seven times.

The Panthers’ offensive line collapsed, allowing Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter to pressure Young, sacking the quarterback seven times.

A fan tagged the Bills and shared a video of WWE legend Booker T to show the excitement for the season opener.

One fan summed up the entire outlook for the Texans and said, “I know it’s impossible to dismiss Stroud’s last start, but if he’s even average, the Texans will be an absolute force in the AFC. On paper, they’re a better team than, say, the Broncos, for example, in almost every way.”

It was a big statement from the Texans’ defense against Carolina, whose quarterback, Young, tallied 3,011 passing yards on 63.6% completion, 23 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions, adding 216 rushing yards and 2 scores for the Panthers last season.
Young earned a PFN QB Impact score of 70.3 (No. 30 in the NFL) and led the Panthers to their first NFC South title since 2015.
As for Allen, he is so far 1-3 against the Texans in the regular season. His last win against them came in 2021, and he has lost two straight games since then. In those four games, he has thrown for 716 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions, and has been sacked 12 times.
The two teams played last season, when the Bills lost 23-19 and were sacked 8 times. The Texans’ defense’s performance against the Panthers in the joint practice is a big indication of how that Week 1 fixture could turn out if Buffalo’s offensive line doesn’t play its best football.
