Updated Rashid Shaheed Fantasy Outlook 2026: Is the Seahawks WR a Late-Round Target?

Rashid Shaheed averaged 2.8 targets per game after joining Seattle and never scored. Does a full offseason learning the playbook change anything?

Rashid Shaheed arrived in Seattle midway through last season and essentially vanished from fantasy relevance. His numbers with the Seahawks were about as bad as they get for a starting-caliber receiver. Reports this offseason suggest there was more going on than a simple talent problem. Should fantasy managers take a shot on Shaheed in 2026?

Should I Draft Rashid Shaheed in Fantasy Football?

When I first started preparing for the upcoming season, Shaheed was an easy fade.

After joining the Seahawks last year, his receiving role cratered completely. He went from a legitimate weekly WR3 in New Orleans to waiver wire fodder. Shaheed averaged a mere 2.8 targets per game in Seattle and did not score a single offensive touchdown. His receiving yardage collapsed from 50.9 per game with the Saints all the way down to 20.9 with the Seahawks.

No role. No production. I was out.

But the more I sat with it, the more I started warming up to him. Seattle does not have a clear WR2 behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Shaheed is a legitimately talented player. Those two facts sitting next to each other are hard to ignore.

I rarely like making excuses for players. In this case, the argument that Shaheed simply did not have time to be integrated into the offense holds real water. Learning a new playbook midseason is genuinely difficult, and there have been reports this offseason confirming that is exactly what happened. The expectation now is that a bigger role is coming after a full offseason to absorb the system.

The situation supports it as well. Seattle projects as one of the better offenses in the league, and they are the defending Super Bowl champions. There are worse places to be the second option in a passing game.

It also does not hurt that Shaheed is likely to chip in a special teams touchdown or two along the way. That is free production most receivers at this price cannot offer, and it can single-handedly rescue a week.

Shaheed is my WR54 against a WR56 ADP, which tells you this is not a strong disagreement with the market. He is essentially free in drafts. At that cost, I am perfectly fine swinging on the WR3 upside he possesses.
