Kyren Williams has spent three straight seasons proving his doubters wrong. Every knock on him has been answered, and he has finished as a productive fantasy back regardless of the circumstances. Yet the situation in Los Angeles keeps evolving in ways that complicate his ceiling. Fantasy managers have to weigh a rock-solid floor against a genuinely capped upside.
Should I Draft Kyren Williams in Fantasy Football?
I have never been a Williams guy. So far, that has been a mistake every single season. After all, what is not to like? Every criticism aimed at him has turned out to be wrong.
Injury risk after a lost rookie year and a five-game absence as a sophomore? He has not missed a game since. Blake Corum arriving to take his job in 2024? Williams touched the ball 350 times and posted 17.0 fantasy points per game. Corum legitimately improving and actually eating into that volume in 2025? Williams still averaged 15.5 PPG and finished as the RB10.

You see where this is going, right? Obviously, this is the year I finally admit defeat and embrace him.
Wrong. I am doing it again.
My ranking is not a full fade. Let me be clear about what I do believe. Williams is the clear starter. He is also the preferred passing-down option. He is going to outproduce Corum. None of that is in dispute.
The problem is how the workload actually gets distributed. By the second half of last season, this was a true timeshare. Williams and Corum alternated drives, and that is exactly what is going to happen again. If a drive runs long and Corum needs a breather, Williams may steal a few snaps on Corum’s possessions. Williams will also check in on obvious passing downs. But the goal-line back is whoever’s turn it happens to be when the Rams get down there, which means I am projecting a decrease in the share of rushing scores that go his way.
There is a counterweight worth taking seriously. Matthew Stafford threw 46 touchdowns last season, and regression is absolutely coming for that number. The Rams added Myles Garrett and project to field a top-three defense, if not the best one in the league. A team with that kind of defense and a quarterback coming back to earth is a team that scores more on the ground. That could meaningfully offset the drives Williams cedes to Corum.
All of this points in the same direction. Williams is highly unlikely to bust at his ADP. The floor is real and the role is secure. The catch is that the only path to a truly elite season runs through a Corum injury, and I am not drafting for that outcome.

He is my RB15, one spot behind his RB14 ADP, which tells you this is not a disagreement about his talent or his value. Williams also lands in an area of drafts where I much prefer the wide receivers on the board.
He is a fine pick at cost. He is a safe pick. He is not a pick I will be making.
