Updated Jalen Coker Fantasy Outlook 2026: Is the Panthers WR a Late-Round Gem?

Jalen Coker went from undrafted out of Hofstra to Carolina's clear WR2. Could he actually be the better Panthers WR in fantasy relative to cost?

Jalen Coker has never averaged more than 8.4 fantasy points per game in a season. He also has no business being on an NFL roster at all, let alone in a starting lineup. His path from undrafted small-school receiver to Carolina’s clear WR2 says something the raw numbers do not. Should fantasy managers take a shot on Coker in 2026?

Should I Draft Jalen Coker in Fantasy Football?

Coker has averaged just 8.4 and 8.2 fantasy points per game in his first two seasons. Knowing nothing else, there would not be much reason to consider him at all.

Context is everything here. Coker is a 2024 undrafted free agent out of Hofstra. Players with that background have no business being fantasy relevant, and the overwhelming majority of them never sniff a meaningful role.

Coker is simply good at football. He forced his way not just onto the Panthers roster but into the starting lineup. At this point, he is their unquestioned WR2, having taken the job from bust Xavier Legette, and he is the favorite to finish second on the team in targets behind Tetairoa McMillan.

The last time we saw him, Coker dropped a 9-134-1 line on the Rams in the Wild Card Round. That is a January performance against a real defense.

Now for some concerns. His 14.8% target share last season looks thin on the surface. The circumstances explain much of it. Coker missed the first six games with a quad injury sustained at the end of training camp, and it took him several weeks to get back up to speed once he returned. That is not a full season of opportunity being wasted. That is a player working his way back into a role he had to earn twice.

The finish is what matters. From Week 13 onward, Coker posted three games with 14 or more fantasy points. That is legitimate weekly production.

Now for the obvious problem. Carolina still has a Bryce Young issue, and Young probably cannot support two fantasy-relevant wide receivers. That is a real cap on what Coker can achieve, and I am not going to pretend otherwise.

But the threshold for Coker to pay off at this price is remarkably low. He does not need to become a weekly starter or command a 25% target share. He needs to be roughly the player he already showed he can be over the back half of last season.

Coker is my WR50 against a WR57 ADP. I, for one, will bet on the talent.
