After Enes Kanter was ejected from Sunday night’s Indiana Fever-Chicago Sky game, the former NBA player took to X to share his side of the incident. Kanter was involved in an altercation with Sky guard Natasha Cloud in the third quarter.
His claim that he was removed from the arena for “supporting women” has quickly divided the WNBA community, with several commentators accusing him of deliberately creating controversy.

Kanter was seated near the courtside at Wintrust Arena and was wearing a black shirt featuring the message, “WOMAN noun. adult human female.”
According to him, the situation began after he celebrated a three-pointer Sophie Cunningham. The former NBA player claimed that Cloud later approached him and made a personal remark.
Kanter said that he was simply at the game to support women. He further alleged that Cloud used profanity during the exchange while children and teenagers were nearby.
“Sophie Cunningham shot a three, and I put my hands up to celebrate. A couple of possessions later, Natasha came back and started screaming and yelling and said, ‘She’s not going to sleep with you.’ I was like, ‘I am not trying to sleep with her. I’m just here to protect women and support her,'” Kanter told Fox News’ Jackson Thompson.

Kanter then stood up and moved towards the court before security and Sky players stepped between the two.
Security ultimately escorted Kanter away from his courtside seat and out of the arena. As he left, he displayed the message on his shirt and later took his frustration to social media. As Kanter shared his experience of the ejection on X, reactions from across the WNBA community quickly came in.
Political commentator Harry Sisson was among the first to respond after Kanter shared his post. Sisson argued that Kanter had brought the situation upon himself, accusing him of harassing players and suggesting that he attended the game looking for a confrontation.

Another sports influencer was even more direct. They questioned why Kanter would travel to another city only to become involved in an incident that could have been avoided.
“Get a life you shameless fool… Grown man flew to city, got dressed, bought tickets, drove to the game and then deliberately harassed women for attention…You should be ashamed of yourself,” they said.

Social media user Matt Van Swol wrote, “There is nothing more terrifying to the Left than someone fearlessly calling the bluff of a movement they know is built on a pack of lies… It is the most horrifying thing in the world to the Left…. They can’t let it happen, no matter what it takes.”
Another user also questioned Kanter Freedom’s motives, asking whether his latest WNBA involvement was an attempt to remain relevant. The fan argued that targeting and undermining a women’s sports organization for personal attention was a questionable career strategy.

One user took a sarcastic jab at Kanter Freedom’s involvement in the debate, writing that although the former NBA player defines himself as a woman, he is not actually a woman.

For his supporters, however, the ejection is being framed as evidence that Kanter’s views are unwelcome inside the WNBA.
For his critics, the incident represents a calculated confrontation that turned a basketball game into something political.
