Sports analyst Jason Whitlock doubled down on criticizing Caitlin Clark following the Indiana Fever’s loss to New York, targeting her lack of ‘emotional control’ after a late sequence of errors.
Whitlock shared a lengthy point-by-point critique of her late-game mistakes, which included a pair of costly free-throw misses.
Jason Whitlock Criticizes Caitlin Clark’s Late Game Execution and Emotional Maturity After Fever Loss
Clark has been nothing short of sensational this season. Packing arenas and putting up exceptional performances. The Indiana Fever superstar has put up monster numbers night after night while pushing her team into a prime playoff position near the top of the leaderboard.
However, even the league’s biggest attraction isn’t immune to under-pressure late-game moments. That reality played out during Saturday’s 109-102 loss to the New York Liberty, where Clark put up solid numbers overall but stumbled right when Indiana needed her most.
With Indiana trailing by just a single point with four minutes remaining, a series of uncharacteristic mistakes allowed New York to pull away. The sequence caught the eye of Whitlock, who posted a detailed, minute-by-minute breakdown dissecting Clark’s play down the stretch.
Whitlock pointed out how Clark missed a deep three-pointer early in the shot clock, suffered defensive lapses against New York’s Pauline Astier, and stayed on her knees to argue with officials after a missed whistle instead of getting back on defense.
The painful stretch concluded with Clark missing two crucial free throws with 24 seconds remaining while down by five.
Unsparing in his evaluation, Whitlock wrote:
“Definition of Low IQ basketball. No emotional control. One day, if Clark ever matures, you will thank me for being a weirdo for waking up and pointing this out. I’m good with you hating me.”

Whitlock doubled down in a follow-up post on X, writing:
“Can’t wait to see how Mick, Venom, Robin and the cult blame this on Stephanie White, Kelsey, and Aliyah. …… Caitlin will be MVP when she grows up and takes control of her emotions.”

The Fever stand on fifth in the leaderboard with a 24-14 record. They were on a brilliant five-match winning streak led by Clark before losing to the Dallas Wings and the Liberty.
