Micah Parsons is heading into his second season with the Green Bay Packers after spending the first four years of his NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys.
While his departure from Dallas had already earned him criticism from the fanbase that watched him develop into a star, his 2026 NFC East prediction has only turned up the heat heading into the season.
Cowboys Fans Turn on Micah Parsons Over NFC East Prediction
Parsons landed with the Packers after Green Bay acquired him from Dallas in exchange for Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark, along with the Packers’ 2026 first-round pick and 2027 first-round pick.
Looking ahead to the upcoming season, the former Cowboys star revealed his predictions for how teams will fare over the next five months. Parsons projected the Philadelphia Eagles to win the NFC East, while placing his former team, the Cowboys, at No. 2.
“At number two, we will go to Dallas Cowboys,” Parsons said. “I think the Dallas Cowboys, they showed us something when they beat the Philadelphia Eagles in that second matchup last year.
“They said, ‘Hey, we’re going to attack Quinyon Mitchell. We’re going to attack Cooper DeJean. We have the best two-man guys.’ And they showed that George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb had big games. Can they limit them? Can those two corners limit the Dallas Cowboys? I don’t know. We’ll see.”

The Cowboys finished last season with a 7-9-1 record, placing behind the Eagles, who went 11-6-0 in the NFC East. While Parsons believes Philadelphia could once again finish atop the division, Cowboys fans were far from convinced by their former star’s prediction.
“Quite literally the most exhausting player to be a fan of in any sport that I’ve ever encountered. [Expletive] I don’t know if I’ve ever felt relieved when such an elite player left my team lol,” one fan wrote.
“Micah Parsons, thank god that we traded your [expletive]. You don’t know nothing about football you just here for the money. You talk a lot of trash but you can’t even back it up in the playoffs, you pick Eagles number 1,” another fan ranted.
“Thank Goodness he’s gone,” a user threw a shot at Parsons.
Law Nation Media simply reacted to Parsons’ take with a bunch of laughing emojis.
“Clearly you wasn’t ever a Cowboy by heart, glazing the Eagles,” a fan remarked.

The reactions made it clear that many Cowboys fans have already developed strong feelings toward their former defensive star, with his latest prediction giving them another reason to voice their frustration.
Despite this backlash, the five-time Pro Bowl edge rusher is now focused on his new stint. He agreed to a four-year, $188 million contract with the Packers, including $136 million guaranteed, a massive extension that made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
After joining the Packers ahead of the 2025 regular season, Parsons produced strong numbers over 14 games. He finished the season with an 82.0 PFN grade, ranking No. 17 among edge rushers.
Unfortunately, Parsons’ first season in Green Bay ended prematurely after he suffered a torn ACL and meniscus damage against the Denver Broncos.
The injury marked the first major setback of Parsons’ NFL career. Though he is expected to return during the upcoming season, he is not expected to be available during the first four weeks of regular-season action.
