Another chapter in the Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese rivalry unfolded on Sunday as the Indiana Fever defeated the Atlanta Dream in an overtime thriller.
After the game, Fever writer Robin Lundberg reacted to a post on X, criticizing Reese’s shooting form.

The Fever grabbed a 95-91 win on Sunday, led by a team-high 26 points, three rebounds and nine assists from Clark. Reese, meanwhile, finished with 15 points, 14 rebounds and six assists, shooting 5-for-16.
The game was tied in the final seconds when Reese gave the Dream a chance to take the lead after collecting an offensive rebound. She missed the ensuing layup, and Atlanta went on to lose at State Farm Arena.
After the matchup, X account @TheHoopCentral highlighted Reese’s stats over the last four games. She is averaging 12.5 points, 14.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists over this stretch.

But what caught Lundberg’s eye was Reese shooting just 29.1% from the field. He reacted, highlighting the forward’s shooting struggles.

Reese has been criticized for her inconsistent shooting since her rookie year, when she shot 39.1% for the Chicago Sky, averaging 13.6 points per game. Her touch improved in 2025 as she shot 45.8% and averaged 14.7 points per game.
However, her shooting percentage has dipped again since she joined the Dream this summer. She is recording a career high of 15.6 points per game but is shooting 41.8%.
Reese has shot above 50% from the field in only one of her last four games. The Dream are 2-2 over this stretch, with Reese playing a key role on defense. Despite her missing a potential go-ahead basket in the final seconds, veteran guard Allisha Gray encouraged the forward after the game.

“It happens,” Gray said. “We know any other time, Angel will make the shot. She knows she’ll make the shot. In that moment, you’ve just got to encourage your teammates.”
Reese and the Dream are fifth in the standings with a 21-13 record and will return to action on Tuesday to face the Las Vegas Aces.
