Plenty of media fallout is ensuing after Las Vegas Raiders stars Maxx Crosby and Kirk Cousins were separated from a skirmish on Friday at training camp.
The first-year Raider had been hit twice by Crosby, prompting the quarterback to grab the five-time Pro Bowler by his jersey and engage in chirps back and forth. Eventually, the two were broken up and then held out of Saturday’s practice. The team was given Sunday off and resumed on Monday, with both Crosby and Cousins set to return.
Crosby-Cousins Fiasco Seemingly Concludes at Monday Practice
NFL insider Adam Schefter joined “The Pat McAfee Show” on Monday, with the Crosby and Cousins dilemma being a main point of contention.
Earlier this offseason, it appeared Crosby was set to join the Baltimore Ravens in a deal that would send two first-round draft picks to Las Vegas. However, after medical concerns surrounding the 28-year-old, Baltimore backed out on the deal, keeping Crosby in Las Vegas.
Since the strange set of events, the eighth-year Raider made it clear he wants to stay with Las Vegas during a press conference, saying, “Ultimately, I’m exactly where I want to be.”
Schefter echoed Crosby’s statement from June when discussing the incident between him and Cousins.

“Maxx wants to be there, and I just think he’s worked up, he’s intense,” said Schefter. “He wound up hitting Kirk… Kirk took offense to it, and here we go, they’re both suspended for Saturday.”
Schefter sarcastically continued, “Has Kirk Cousins ever been suspended in his life for a practice? I would venture to say no, I’ll bet that’s never happened before, it was a first.”

McAfee tailed Schefter’s statement, speaking to the two players’ competitive nature.
“Kirk gets fired up, though– you like that,’ remember, he does get a little fiery,” said McAfee. “We know Maxx Crosby, he’s a menace, always gonna be a menace, always gonna be going 100 miles an hour.”

The ex-NFL punter and his castmates went on to say that Cousins may be sending first-overall pick Fernando Mendoza a message amid the dilemma.
“Kirk potentially showing Fernando, like, ‘yeah, right, we can’t just sit here and take this,'” said McAfee.
When the two returned to practice on Monday, they engaged in high-fives and head taps, seemingly concluding any alleged beef between them.
