Zay Flowers has barely had time to enjoy his massive new contract with the Baltimore Ravens. The star wide receiver was forced to leave practice early on Saturday after suffering a leg injury.
NFL Fans Worried Over Zay Flowers’ Day-to-Day Status
Flowers was involved in a collision with safety Jaylinn Hawkins during the seven-on-seven practice at training camp. The Ravens wideout sought to catch a pass from Lamar Jackson before his momentum took him into Hawkins. The collision left him on the ground, and shortly after, Flowers left the practice limping off.
Ravens head coach Jesse Minter later revealed that Flowers suffered a quad contusion and is considered day-to-day.

However, NFL fans were quick to react to Flowers’ injury on X. One fan said, “Just Stop Training Camp.”
PPR Fantasy Tips wrote, “Ok, it’s time to just let all of the star WRs rest until Week 1. I’ve seen enough.”

An account named ‘PapaZirk’ said, “Dam, right after he got paid. Hope he’s ok.”

The injury comes just four days after Flowers agreed to a four-year, $140 million extension with the Ravens. The deal includes $108 million in guaranteed compensation.
Flowers earned the payday after an impressive 2025 season. He recorded 86 receptions for 1,211 yards and five receiving touchdowns. This was a Ravens single-season record for a wide receiver. The two-time Pro Bowler has 3,128 receiving yards to his name in his first three NFL seasons.
Flowers accounted for 36.9% of the Ravens’ total receiving yardage in 2025. He had an 80.6 impact rating on PFN’s WR Impact Metric last season, ranking ninth in the league.
Flowers agreed to his new deal on Tuesday after the Ravens had already picked up his fifth-year option earlier this offseason. The new extension keeps him in Baltimore through 2031. After signing his extension, Flowers made it clear that he wants Lamar Jackson to remain his quarterback for the rest of his career.
“I’d love for him to be my quarterback to I’m done playing,” Flowers said. “No matter whether 12 years, 13. It don’t matter how long. I want him to be my quarterback because, to me, he’s the best in the world.”
The $35 million average annual value ties Flowers with Justin Jefferson as the NFL’s fourth-highest-paid wide receiver. He is now the second-highest-paid player on the Ravens roster behind Jackson.
Now, the Ravens will wait to see how quickly Flowers recovers from the quad contusion.
