Donald Trump Jr. Boldly Predicts Enes Kanter ‘Breaks Every Record’ in WNBA After Declaring for Draft As Trans Athlete

Donald Trump Jr. makes a bold prediction about Enes Kanter Freedom’s potential WNBA career after their surprise 2027 Draft declaration.

No transgender athlete has ever played in a WNBA game. However, that could change in the future after former NBA player Enes Kanter Freedom declared for the 2027 WNBA Draft.

Now, Donald Trump Jr. has added another layer to the conversation with a bold prediction about what could happen if Enes Kanter Freedom eventually makes it onto a WNBA roster.

Donald Trump Jr.’s Recent Revelation Regarding Enes Kanter Freedom

Trump Jr. recently took to X and claimed that if Kanter Freedom ultimately plays in the WNBA, they could “break every record” in the league during his first year.

“I’m going to go out in a limb here and predict Enes breaks every record in the WNBA in year one. She truly is going to make a spectacular women’s basketball player,” Trump Jr. wrote on X.

Kanter Freedom joined the NBA in 2011 after being selected third overall by the Utah Jazz. He went on to spend 11 seasons in the league. His final NBA stint came with the Houston Rockets, who waived him in February 2022.

After that, things became relatively quiet for Kanter’s basketball career. That changed on August 7, when he announced his decision to declare for the 2027 WNBA Draft, citing the league’s inclusion and self-identification policies.

“After careful consideration and reviewing the current eligibility guidelines, I’m officially declaring myself a WNBA prospect. If simply declaring who you are is all that’s required, then I meet every single requirement necessary to compete in the WNBA.”

“My team and I have carefully examined the WNBA’s eligibility criteria and governing framework surrounding self-identification and inclusion. Based on the current guidelines, I can and am officially declaring my eligibility for the upcoming WNBA draft in April 2027,” Kanter Freedom said in his declaration video on X.

As mentioned earlier, no transgender athlete has played in a WNBA game. However, in other sports, there are examples of transgender athletes competing at a high level.

One of the most notable is Laurel Hubbard, a New Zealand weightlifter. They became the first openly transgender woman to compete at the Olympics when they took part in the Tokyo 2020 Games. She won Oceania and Commonwealth titles and also earned a silver medal at the World Championships.

That is where Trump Jr.’s prediction comes into the picture.

While saying Kanter Freedom would break every WNBA record in his first season is clearly a prediction, his previous experience in professional basketball gives him a very different background from a typical draft prospect. What will ultimately happen remains to be seen.
