Two Los Angeles Rams sit on Kyle Soppe’s Hot List of the five worst picks in Sleeper drafts this season, and the overlap is the whole argument. Kyren Williams and Davante Adams both come off the NFL’s highest-scoring offense. Soppe thinks the offense regresses before either player does.
Why the Rams Offense Is the Trap of 2026 Fantasy Football Drafts
The 2025 production was real. Matthew Stafford won MVP at 37, leading the league with 4,707 passing yards and 46 touchdowns. Adams caught 14 scores in 14 games, more than any receiver in football, on 60 catches for 789 yards. Williams carried 259 times for 1,252 yards and 10 touchdowns before Los Angeles lost 31-27 to Seattle in the NFC Championship Game.
Soppe’s case starts with red zone volume that has nowhere left to climb. He counted 76 Rams trips inside the 20, which he says led the league and ranked second in any season since the schedule expanded to 17 games. “If you dial that back, even just a little bit, just a little bit, that’s a problem for a guy that relies on touchdowns so much.”
Behind Williams sits Blake Corum, who turned 145 carries into 746 yards and six touchdowns at 5.1 per attempt in year two. “I don’t know how [Kyren’s] paying off this price tag inside the first 3 rounds when you’ve got guys like Javonte Williams, who I think can be just as good for 5 to 10 picks cheaper.”

Adams gets the harsher treatment. “There’s a lot to go sideways here for a receiver who’s 33 years old, plays with a 38-year-old quarterback, who just 12 months ago we were worried about [back injuries], about him not making it through the season,” Soppe said. He also flagged the yardage floor, noting Adams cleared 65 receiving yards only four times.
Then comes the part the market has not touched. “That defense is gonna be amazing. Look for a lot of lower scoring games relative to last season.” Soppe is arguing the Rams win 20-13 instead of 31-24, betting that a unit which ranked 10th in points allowed takes another step and drags every game script down with it.
Here’s the catch. Consensus PPR ADP has already moved most of the way toward him. As of Aug. 3, Adams sits 46th overall as WR23, one slot behind Terry McLaurin, the receiver Soppe would rather own. Javonte Williams goes 33rd, two picks after Kyren, not five to 10. The discounts he’s chasing have mostly closed, which makes these philosophy calls rather than value calls.

Jackson’s 2025 was the outlier. He posted a career-low 67 carries for 349 yards and two scores across 13 starts, missing four games to injury, and added 2,549 passing yards and 21 touchdowns. Isaiah Likely left for the Giants on a three-year, $40 million deal. “Lamar Jackson isn’t that guy at this level. Top 5 quarterback, not worth the sticker price right now over there on Sleeper.”
The calendar reinforces it. Baltimore’s bye falls in Week 13 on Dec. 6, and the fantasy playoffs run through Pittsburgh, a home date with Cleveland and a New Year’s Eve trip to Cincinnati. Every one of those is outdoors in the AFC North.

Olave is the awkward one. He set career highs with 100 catches, 1,163 yards and nine touchdowns while earning second-team All-Pro honors, so the “same stat line four years running” framing undersells 2025. Still, New Orleans drafted Jordyn Tyson eighth overall and signed Travis Etienne Jr. “Balance is great for the Saints, not for fantasy owners that want Olave to put up monster numbers.”
Skattebo lands 43rd overall coming off a dislocated ankle suffered in Week 8, with Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Devin Singletary still in the building. “That makes him bust-ish, bust adjacent inside the top 50.”

If Los Angeles really does drag games into the 20s, Soppe wins this list twice over. If the reigning MVP simply reloads, he’s passed on two of the safest weekly starters in football to make a point about touchdown math.
