Team Spoon defeated Team Coop in a high-scoring affair on Saturday night in Chicago to wrap up the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game. New York Liberty’s Jonquel Jones won the MVP after dropping a 22-point, 13-rebound double-double during the exhibition.
However, for one analyst, the final result felt like a complete afterthought after a clip of the All-Star party surfaced on social media.
Jason Whitlock Torches the WNBA All-Star Party Moment In Scathing Rant
Whitlock took aim at the culture surrounding the league’s marquee weekend. He slammed the postgame party scene shared on social media by the players themselves.
Addressing the viral clip that also featured Dallas Wings’ Paige Bueckers, Whitlock questioned why athletes let themselves be filmed in environments he felt lacked professional standards.
“This is how they are allowing themselves to be filmed doing this? Do they have no more respect for themselves or the league?” Whitlock wondered during the latest segment of “Fearless”.
Through all of the ridiculousness from the WNBA All-Star Weekend, it became clear that Caitlin Clark is the only player capable of being the face of the league. pic.twitter.com/KuuTBTA55B

“That looks like the other videos that they put out this weekend. Not a man in sight, and rap music everywhere, and the studbudz just having their way with whoever they want. These complaints about Caitlin Clark is the face of the league.”
He contrasted that club environment with Clark’s deliberate decision to skip the red carpet and avoid the late-night scene.
“Could you make Paige Bueckers the face of your league if this is the way she’s allowing herself to be documented? The big story this weekend was Caitlin Clark skipped the red carpet.”
“Caitlin Clark wasn’t at this or that, and this is why,” Whitlock continued. “…Because she actually does want to be the face of the league and takes that responsibility off court very seriously. But no one else could be the face of the league because it’s a bunch of clowns for the most part.”
Off-court distractions went beyond the Chicago club scene by Sunday morning when Chicago Sky guard DiJonai Carrington dropped a public accusation against her former girlfriend.
Carrington alleged that Las Vegas Aces forward NaLyssa Smith cheated on her with multiple players, specifically naming Deja Kelly and Aaliyah Nye in an expletive Threads post.
While the WNBA continues juggling between the basketball product and off-court drama, Clark and the Indiana Fever return to the floor Tuesday night against the Seattle Storm.
A win for the Fever will do a whole lot of good to solidify their playoff positioning in a crowded race.
But the matchup is not expected to be without drama, as reports indicate that an ‘anti-trans rally’ could take place near the arena in Seattle before the game.
