Right before free agency officially got underway, one of the greatest players in NBA history joined the free agent pool. As was confirmed, LeBron James decided to move on from the Los Angeles Lakers to join a new team after his longest continuous stint on a single franchise.
At 41, he’s once again become the crown jewel of free agency, with a lot of potential suitors waiting in the wings. While all of them can offer different things to the four-time NBA champion, his podcast may have given a clear indication of what is coming next.
LeBron James Stoking the Loudest Flame
Since his season came to an end in the second round, there have been a lot of rumors circulating about “The King.”
From the two teams in the Finals, the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs, to his other two pitstops in the league, the Miami Heat and the Cleveland Cavaliers, a lot of teams have already been linked as potential landing spots.
However, the rumor mill has been the loudest about a potential fourth team on his resume. One of his greatest rivals, an organization he clashed against four consecutive times in the NBA Finals, is the Golden State Warriors.
In the week leading up to the start of free agency, there has been plenty of smoke about James potentially joining the Warriors.
With Stephen Curry and Draymond Green already on the roster, the expectation was that they could also bring in Anthony Davis via trade.
While there hasn’t been any confirmation about which way the four-time MVP is leaning, his podcast, “Mind the Game,” may have dropped an inadvertent hint.
On their YouTube page, the latest upload is very telling.
A 10-minute discussion from the time Curry made a guest appearance on the podcast, the video is titled “LeBron and Steph on Teaming Up for Team USA’s 2024 Gold Medal Run.”
During the clip, the two speak fondly of their time together, including calling it “perfect basketball.”

While it is certainly possible that the upload was made by an admin to capitalize on the growing rumor mill, it has certainly caught the attention of social media.
Given the timing of the upload and James’s decision to move on from the Lakers, folks are starting to wonder if there is fire beneath the smoke
So far, there has been no official confirmation of James’s next stop in his legendary career, with growing sentiment that he will take his time evaluating his next landing spot, which could be his last in the league.
But the YouTube upload is the closest thing we’ve gotten to a hint, and it might be something to look back on if the move to the Warriors becomes a reality in the near future.
