Brandon Aiyuk dropped a YouTube video on Saturday to give his most detailed account yet of the fallout between himself and the San Francisco 49ers. The 28-year-old receiver, who has spent the past month posting Instagram videos to call out the franchise, used the longer format to go after his former agent Ryan Williams, general manager John Lynch, and head coach Kyle Shanahan.
The video represented another effort in Aiyuk’s campaign to force San Francisco to release him. While previous social media posts were vague enough to leave room for interpretation, the YouTube video named names, described specific incidents, and made clear that Aiyuk’s issues with the 49ers go well beyond the contract dispute.
Brandon Aiyuk’s Frustration With Kyle Shanahan Appears to Be the Biggest Issue
Aiyuk revealed that his former agent also represents Lynch, and that the 49ers general manager came to his house uninvited, and he took issue with it. He also labeled Williams and Lynch as “creepy predators” and then went off at Shanahan for disrespecting him.
“The same general manager that tried to run me down and come apologize for his head coach cuz his head coach got a temperament of a (expletive) toddler and was speaking out the side of his (expletive) mouth to me knowing that you got it, bro,” Aiyuk said. “What am I going to do in here? Beat you up? Come on, bro.”
“You just talking crazy cuz you know you can talk crazy,” Aiyuk added. “But you feel me? (expletive) going to respect me or I’mma get on, bro. So, the story is I don’t (expletive) with them (expletive) and I never will.”
Based on what he said, Aiyuk believes Shanahan felt comfortable disrespecting him because the power dynamic in a team facility protects the head coach from any real consequences. That frustration appears to be the biggest reason behind Aiyuk’s desire to leave.

The question now is whether any of it will actually result in Aiyuk’s release. The star wideout has made clear he wants to sign with the Washington Commanders and play alongside Jayden Daniels, and he has circled the October 19 Monday Night Football fixture at Levi’s Stadium as his revenge game.
Given how personal the YouTube video was, more explosive content from Aiyuk could follow in the weeks leading up to training camp, which opens in late July.

Whether the 49ers eventually grant his wish, force him to sit out the summer, or possibly the entire season is now one of the biggest questions in the league.
